Jamal Tinsley - might be the best option at point guard

Post#1 » by cfan79 » Sun Jul 12, 2009 10:17 am

Why are the Pacers holding this man hostage? I really don't get it, he must have did something really wrong for them to do this to him. I'd take Tinsley for Scala, Tony and Gabe.

That is ridiculously bad for us. You want to pay Tinsley 7 mio this and 7,5 mio next season?

No one will trade expiring contrasts for a player who hasn`t played basketball in over a year and is a bad character guy...

Tinsley is something that we haven't had off the bench. A pass first point guard who can score on a occasion when he feels like it. I think if he did something wrong he has learned from it. Its time to let the guy move on with his life.

This is Marbury situation part 2. If he is bought out and we can sign him for the minimum sure but anything else is just a terrible deal for us, IMO.

I can understand why you wouldn't want to pay him 7 million next season. He would be overpaid. I just figured we wouldn't be giving up that much. It does make sense to wait and see if he's bought out, but we might have some competition for his services.

Bird wouldn't trade him to ruin the Celtics.

Whether or not he is a headcase, and I think the Pacers have overblown how much of a problem he is, he has always been injury prone and out of shape. The out of shape thing doesn't get any better when you consider he didn't play at all last season

I love Tinsley's game, yet even I am against acquiring him. Simply because the chances of getting a useful Tinsley is close to zero. If hes not out of shape, or having issues in the locker room or with management, then it will be complaints about playing time or something else entirely that we wont even see coming. A sophomore year Tinsley would be the ******* sweet to have as a backup though.

"Now, there's a steal by Bird..!"

If Larry Bird, a guy who toked up with John Cougar Mellencamp, snorted the occassional line of yayo, and once broke a bouncer's jaw in a bar fight, actually thinks Jamal Tinsley is bad news and wants him no where close to the team, then that really says something about Jamal.

At this point I'd be surprised if Jamal ever plays another game in the NBA. No thanks

Well I don't have a link but I'm 99% sure that RealGM posted an article stating that Indiana would not match Toronto's offer sheet for Jarrett Jack. So that leaves the injury prone TJ Ford, and Travis Diener for their PG situation. Maybe they will play him this year?

Or maybe Jack will be back

Can't really count on any sources this offseason, or ever.
