Trades with New Orleans

Post#1 » by TheOGJabroni » Mon Jul 13, 2009 4:28 pm

*This really is one deal but since I believe S&T's need to only involve the one player that is being signed then traded, it will be split into two.

Glen Davis (S&T - match Rasul Butler's contract)
Eddie House
Tony Allen

for

Rasual Butler
Antonio Daniels

Personally, I really like this deal because we get our back ups for Paul and Rondo. And the great thing is our flexibility. Both of those players can play the 2 to back up Ray as well. Hopefully we could even squeeze a pick or something out of them too. I think we definitely could.

Perk 32 / Sheed 16
KG 32 / Sheed 16
Pierce 32 / Butler 16
Ray 32 / AD/RB 16
Rondo 36 / Daniels 12

With Pruitt, Hudson, JR, Walker, Scal, Swift rounding out the rest of the roster. Leaving us with 14, giving us the opportunity to stay flexible. Maybe resign Leon Powe for the vet. min. when he is healthy if no other team picks him up.

(I put this idea in another thread but I figured it would see more new responses if it had it's own.)

We trade Eddie house, and get Eddie House? Does Eddie House have a twin brother that plays for New Orleans??Can he shoot well like his brother Eddie House??
This isn't bad though. I'd probably do it, even though I absolutely love Eddie House(The Celtics Eddie House..lmao)...

he meant Antonio Daniels of course.

I wouldn't be opposed to this. We would get some big expiring contracts to play with at the deadline as well, and I think we would be a better team for it. Not a big Daniels fan but at least he's more of a PG than House. Butler is a pretty solid player, will help more than TA.

hmmm ... i dont think i like Antonio Daniels playing backup SG ... Ray and Pierce both need a dependable backup, so Butler cant backup both players ... idk

How about Tony and Scal for Mo Peterson?

That way our biggest need (full time backup SF) is filled without creating holes elsewhere. Then we can re-sign Davis, keep House to backup 1/2 and we good.

I'm sure NO would have to consider any option that gets them expiring deals for Mo Pete...

No truth in that you are confusing recently traded players and sign and trade players. The restriction on Davis will be Base Year Compendation, 100% going out and 50% coming back.

Butler can give you mins at the 2-4 and Daniels can play both guard spots. Hate the Eddie House idea I would rather it be TA/Scal.

Hornets don't have anyone I like besides Chris Paul and a deal for him isn't possible. Posey's contract is pretty bad so I'd pass on him. Heck Chandler and Peja's contracts are horrible too.

And to those who have said you would rather give up Scal over Eddie, I actually had thought of that too. I just decided on Eddie because we would be able to play others at the 2 spot. Without Scal, we wouldn't really have a 4th big to put in, in case of foul trouble. But yes, either way works.

Oh, House has quite a few brothers... Meet...

There are also brothers: Benny (Miami), Ezekiel (Milwaukee), Weston (Clippers) and Montgomery (Charlotte).

Turns out they were all clones created by Eddie himself. He'd thought it would be cool to show up for Halloween, and surprise his friends.

anything involving TA would make me thrilled.

Ill trade TA for 2 water bottles and a ball rack
Paul Pierce said it best about Caron Butler and the AS 2007 Game:

"Caron Butler should send me flowers for being injured so he could make the All-Star game, because if I was healthy, he wouldn’t be in there.”

One water bottle, maybe.

And a vial of Dick Bavetta's butt sweat.

But two water bottles?

Never happen.

So by the responses thus far it seems most are at least okay or in favor of the idea. Do you think we see Danny Ainge do something similar to this? I would like Nocioni a lot if we did this type of deal.
