How would you grade Spurs

Off-season is not over but i am not expecting another big surprise.
Bringing Bruce Bowen back wont be a surprise because it looks like a lock that Bucks will release him.

Key transactions:
San Antonio traded forwards Bruce Bowen and Kurt Thomas and center Fabricio Oberto to Milwaukee for forward Richard Jefferson.
Drafted DeJuan Blair (37), Jack McClinton (51) and Nando De Colo (53)
Signed Marcus Haislip and Antonio McDyess

My grade is A because i was not expecting a good off-season to happen for the Spurs, lol. I am glad to be wrong.

Same here. It's an A. I think that's the consensus around the league too. We put ourselves back into the title hunt with our offseason.

The Spurs will be contenders if Manu fully recovers.

yeah gotta be an A. Turned nothing into Richard jefferson, got a great steal from the draft, Mcdyess and Haislip who could turn out to be a good signing.
If the Big three rest up well we should give the Lakers a real good run in the WCF

I think we had the best off season in the NBA by far.
We've brought in 3 bigs all better than our #2 big of last year. and RJ.

Dyse ---consumate veteran and stick the open J and pulled 10 RBs a game. Hee replaces Bonner, IMMEDIATELY!

Blair --- physical toughness we've needed. He is short but GREAT rebounding usually carries over from (small) college to pro. Rodman and Oakley come to mind. Not looking for a lot of points. I hope he can be a small C. how about The Wes Unseld Story starring DeJaun Blair. lol.

Haislip --- he's the wildcard. Great athleticism, great dunker/finisher. can shoot the 3 and can shoot the in between jumper off the dribble. Also he has the height, quickness and jumping ability and shotblocking that you want in a Dirk Stopper. Of course he wont stop him but compared to Bonner, Manu, Bowen, Oberto, and whoever else we've matched up on Dirk Haislip will give him MUCH more to think about.

If Haislip can play stretches at the 3 (Tony and Tim make role players, PLAYERS) we may even thrive without Manu on the court resting or hurt.

RJ - Had a down year, but his production still far exceeded Finley and Mason.

Best Spur offseason since Tim came aboard, I think

Unexpectedly tremendous offseason. The Mavs did us a favor by knocking us out 4-1 in the 1st round.

A for sure. We addressed our two biggest needs and had an outstanding draft considering we didn't even have a first round pick.

I know the Lakers and the Celtics gets the "golden boy" treatment by the league, but I have mad respect for you guys. I am Bulls fan, but Tim Duncan is one of my favorite players.

With that said, ESPN goes on and on, about the Lakers getting Ron "The Con" Artest and the Celtics getting "Weed" Wallace, but nobody on that darn network give you guys credit for landing Blair in the draft and acquiring Jefferson (bigger impact next yr then Artest, mark my words) and getting Dice (one my fave Crimon Tide players of all time). I know the Lakers will get the instant favorites title to repeat, but quite frankly, I think the championship will have to come through San Antonio next yr. Call it a gut feeling.

Good luck next yr, and wipe the floor with those overrated punks in LA.

I have to say that the Mavs themselves had a pretty good offseason. They were pretty good last year, and added Shawn Marion and Gortat. That's 2 guys that IMO fits with Kidd better than Antoine Wright and Erick Dampier. They're gonna be much much improved.

A+ Can't remember an offseason this good. Spurs address nearly every whole they had from last year. Only issues now are back up point guard. Which if Hill can adjust to takes care of that issue. Depth with are bigs still lingers but with Blair, Bonner, Mahimni and Haislip I think we'll be ok...at least until we trade for Camby. With all the moves this year everyone keeps forgetting about Richard Jefferson. That by far is the best off season move by any team. RJ is young, athletic, and we got him for nothing. A+

hate to agree but SA def. deserves an A, I would say SOLID A but no real backup with bigs yet, can't say any contending team should put faith in a rookie and a NBA washup from europe to give you consistant production. Also Mcdyess for all his injury plague season prior to joining Det, seems to have been in pretty good healthy lately, but having him start in West might not be good for his health in the long run.

What Grade?
