I honestly feel like we're arguing what color the grass is with someone who's color blind.

Quit picking on those of us who are color blind! We are people too you know and may not want to be associated with whatever point you are making.

WW, if you ask my high school coach, there were games where he was sure that I was color blind.

Oh, j2j, if he were color-blind, that would take care of one of his major character flaws.

Well I came here to check some Rubio updates but apparently the wheels of the thread went off again.

That's unfortunate.
Nothing's changed. Rubio's still staging a hunger strike until the Wolves trade him. The Knicks are offering peanut shells, and Kahn's contemplating a career at McDonalds once he's fired next week.

Re: ALL RUBIO TALK HERE
There was today a follow up article in the Spanish media regarding the interest of the FC Barcelona in signing him. In this article the writer said that sources from the Barcelona had said that although they are interested they will not be paying the $8 million buyout. So, it seems that no matter who signs Rubio that is going to be after a significant buyout reduction. Rubio still keeps its case against his team for an abusive buyout and the Joventud insists that with that case against them there is not going to be negotiation. This situation is blocked. It could change anytime or it could take months with the result of Rubio not moving from his team. Whenever I get more news I'll post them asap. (I am from Spain

Re: ALL RUBIO TALK HERE
Not sure if this observation should go in here, or the Flynn thread, or somewhere else entirely, but I'm kinda surprised I haven't seen it mentioned yet (especially by Kahn).
I had dinner with a friend of mine the other night (a die hard Knicks fan), and conversation inevitably lead to Rubio. He, along with the vast majority of fans & media members, called BS on Kahn's claim that he wants to play Rubio and Flynn together. I countered that there's plenty of evidence that teams can win with 2 point guards who compliment each other effectively. Isiah and Dumars in Detroit, Magic and Cooper in LA, Ainge and Johnson in Boston... In fact, by first count nearly a 3rd of the teams that have won championships in the last 30 years did so with a 2 point guard backcourt... We walked away from dinner talking about how strange it is that more teams don't go with a 2 pg approach, considering its success over the last 30 years.
I mention this not because it's some amazing insight, but because I'm pretty surprised we haven't heard it from the Wolves. You'd think Kahn would count the number of championships won by 2 pg teams ever time he's questioned about his plan. Even if he's still full of it, it would silence a lot of his critics.

Re: ALL RUBIO TALK HERE
Kahn didn't mention a total number of championships, but he definitely mentioned Dumars/Thomas and Ainge/Johnson at the T-Wolves draft party.

Kahn has actually been using that exact argument, including your examples of Detroit, LA, and Boston since draft night. It hasn't silenced any critics, not that the ESPN talking heads mean much.

Huh, and here I am thinking I'm all insightful...
It is kind of crazy though that espn et all bash the whole concept of a 2pg team despite it's success.

Also in Europe is relatively common to have two PG playing. But I think it is pointless to think about whether that's something feasible for the Wolves until Rubio and Flynn dont start playing together, the team has a coach and a bball style and the players are assigned functions. It could be very good or terrible depending on everything. But I think there is nothing crazy about it at all.

Timberwolves should keep Rubio even if offered Wade, He could be very special in a few years. Besides Wade wouldnt get the Timberwolves a ring next year.

There's no reason to build such an arguement until he knows they are actually goign ot play together. The best thing now is just to say silent. Pointless to build up all this hope about winning championship with 2 point guards if one is not going to play for 2 years

wow easy buddy. if one of the superstar top 5 (Kobe, LeBron, Wade, Paul and Howard) is offered you take it no matter what. I'd even trade Jefferson for one of them. it doesn't matter wether or not they fit into our rebuilding plans or not - you take them if they're offered.

Yeah, Kahn should just deflect, deflect, deflect right now, then deflect some more. He should be answering every question on Rubio with a question of his own, like Steve Carrell with the bookstore girl in "40 Year Old Virgin."
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

This thread would be 12 pages if it weren't for the NYK trolls and KWSN.
