I can see where the anger from Mavs fans is coming from though. We got Bass, Gortat and a fat TPE basically all at their expense. We didn't break any rules but we didn't do anyone any favors.

We picked up their biggest frontcourt target after already having the best C in the NBA. I'd be pissed too.

Agree, I was a bit skeptical after the VC trade that Orlando would be back since they lost some of their depth and appeared to not have management willing to resign Gortat. With Gortat coming back however and the addition of Bass Orlando is looking stacked and set to head back to the Finals(barring injuries).

Nelson / AJ
VC / Reddick
Shard / Peaches
Bass / PF from VC trade
Howard / Gortat

Looks better then what Boston and Cleveland have so far, be interesting to see what other moves are made by those 2 since Im sure their front offices are thinking the same. All the Lakers have to do however is resign Odom and they'll be more then ready for a rematch if it happens.

Nope, Dampier didnt injure Nelson. The injury occured when he went for the ball, not the contact after the play.

He CAN. Possibly. I think its a bigger longshot than most people think. I tend to withhold judging a player on one solid season as a backup, which is why I'm withholding judgment on Bass. I think he can be a starter but a LEGIT starter is yet to be seen.

Injuries are part of the game, just like screwing over other teams in free agency. If fans can be a bad sport about one, it should be okay to be one about other parts of the game as well.

That's $87M in luxury tax and counting. You have to figure that the Lakers will resign Lamar for around $8M, the Jazz will match on Milsap & the Mavericks will look to spend that MLE on somebody. Also, these teams all need to fill out their rosters so there could easily be $100M in luxury tax paid out, even with teams like the Wizards, Jazz, Hornets & Suns making moves to dump salary. And I thought the economy was struggling.....

Nelson/VC/Bass >>> Alston/Turk/Lee/Battie, easily, and it's not even close.

Boston/Orlando are the top two teams in the East with Cleveland as a distant 3rd.

That's just wrong. Listen, you can be mad or upset about a signing but at the end of the day, these aren't action figures or trading cards. These are real people who go out and play the game of basketball for us so we can have a favorite sport and have something to (in my case) build our lives around. Wishing injury on another player from any team is just inappropriate and immature. Grow up or stop posting. It just sickens me when anyone wishes an injury to an athlete or anybody for that matter.

Seems like a wild move for the Magic. Gortat and Dwight can't really play on the floor together, can they? That leaves about 12 mpg again this season.

I would have thought that it was a move inspired by another team (like the rockets offering Battier for example) offering to trade for him later in the season if the Magic matched (and thereby screwing Dallas over), but Gortat will be BYC and nearly impossible to trade straight up.

Injuries are part of the game. If I was making millions of dollars to play basketball I couldn't care less what someone wanted to happen to me.
