Mitch explains why the Ariza negotiation failed ..

I agree with Mitch if we had not moved quickly Artest would have been gone and our only true negotiation power would have been lost.. We would have had to pay 8 mill for Ariza so we save 3 mil.. by moving quickly..

What Greg smalls speaks about is also how some of us fans feel about Trevor..

If i were trevor i would said Kupchuk u guys gave me a chance , this is the only place i want to be..
Instead he tried the David Lee book of negotiating in public.. works once.. 2nd time sorry ..

Well, rooting against Trevor and wishing long term injury on McGrady because Trevor signed there is still really unclassy, and a douche comment which made me instantly lose respect for the radio show host (not that he was very entertaining or good in the first place either way). I'm going to quote Trevor when it comes to that comment: "it is what it is".

That comment about McGrady alone is A LOT more unclassy than anything those Boston guys said in the video from the other thread about Kobe being a faker.

Trevor contributed big time to a championship. You and others should appreciate him for that. You didn't see much hate on Kobe's face when Trevor dropped by his camp did you? Maybe we should have the same attitude?

I missed this part in the audio.. may be the talk was a bit unclassy.. but i do think Ariza is lying on not getting an offer and also on how the negotiation went down, that where i agree with the host.... i think what really happened was Mitch gave a MLE and David Lee threw it back at Mitch's face saying he has better offers.. thats where the bring ur offer sheet and we will match it comes from ...Reality was that all David lee had was interest from 2-3 teams and no real offers..

yes trevor contributed..
What the lakers did to Trevors career is far greater than Trevors contribution to the Lakers..
Time has proven that a lot of Lakers role players are garbage when they leave the Lakers..
Why? Because we always had 2 players who demanded double teams in the past decade.. most of the role players got wide open shots.. made them look like super stars and clutch performers.. reality is they are plain middle to low tier or garbage players ..

Personally for me there is no hate for trevor except he lied about the negotiations.. I wish him well but i also think he has peaked and has no more room for growth.. he cant be a dribble penetrate and dish player , he is not a very good passer.. If after 7 years in the league u cannot do these things means u probably never will be great at it..

Im glad we didn't sign him. If we could get him right now for next year's midlevel some how I would say no because of Artest. Ariza is totally overrated. Athletic peremiter players who play D and shoot the 3 are not hard to replace. Replacing a Ron is impossible.

Now Lee he is also very stupid and selfish. 12 million a year. He is not worth that. He is worth 8 mil not 12. And I mean average 8 mil a year not starts with raises. So many of these players are such narrcisists and overrate themself and some are just like Marion and just crave money.

Treva should have stayed on Lakers and backed up Kobe and Ron for 4 million dollars and Lee should be a starter for Knicks for 8.

All these idiots need to look at Shannon Brown.. the guy was a first round draft pick.. got lost in the league.. went into the Dleague and come out of garbage dumps to have a opportunity with the Lakers.. he did the right thing re-signing.. Thats shannon way of saying thank you.. Mitch said thanks by giving him a opt out clause after the first year...

Lakers rarely hardball true talent.. we have always overpayed good players.. If people think they can bankrupt us then they need to look elsewhere..

We weren't part of the negotiations though, so just how they went down is impossible for us to say.

That's true about a couple other Laker role players, but I don't think he's going to flop. He isn't going to be a star, but I think he'll be solid. His percentages will certainly drop a bit since he won't be as open, but he's still a good slasher.

He's been in the league 5 years btw (not 7) and just turned 24, so he has some room for growth.
