What are you guys expecting from Griese?

Post#1 » by CBS7 » Thu Sep 27, 2007 2:43 am

Impact wise and stat wise?

Will he help turn this Bears offense around?

What stats will he put up? TDs/INTs/Yards/%.

Anything better than Rex Grossman!

Hopefully.

Anything that starts with 0 INT/0 Fumbles and ends in like one-two TDs/decent yardage will make me VERY. VERY happy.

I can't really say since I haven't got the chance to see Bears play this year. I think if your offensive line holds up and the Lions can't get pressure on Griese that he will have a field day against us. If the Lions can get pressure on him and force him to throw the ball sooner than he would like to, than that helps our secondary a lot and could lead to a long day for Lovie and the Bears.

So heres my predictions:
If the Lions can't put pressure on Griese (3 TDs/1 INT/280 yards)

If the Lions do get pressure on him (1 TD/2 INTs/170 yards)

Shotgun plays?

All I ask is for some sort of efficiency.

For one, Cliff Levingston expects fewer turnovers. People forget that Griese was prone to interceptions as well, just not as many as Grossman. Given the Grossman fallout though, Cliff Levingston expects Griese to be pretty judicious with the ball and not take too many chances. Call that around 1 INT per game or slightly less, which is a marked improvement over Grossman.

Cliff Levingston also expect a higher completion % due to getting rid of the ball earlier. Griese doesn't have the big arm of Grossman and has never looked to the deep ball as much as him. Hopefully Griese will use his tight ends over the middle a little more cause Clark and Olsen should be a very good pass catching tandem at that position.

If all goes well, we may be able to move into the middle percentile for offensive efficiency ratings, but Cliff Levingston doesn't expect us to become an offensive juggernaut. We'll have a good offensive day against the Lions but lose the shootout due to all the injuries on D.

I was a big Rex supporter but I expect to see some improvement.

Rex still refuses to take what the defense gives him and Griese will do this well. Even the likes of Peyton Manning thrive off of being able to move the chains via the easy completion and waiting quarters at a time for his chance to strike. Greise will do this and have consistently sustained drives.

I think he'll do this by using the TE's more, and I think the running game will come around.

We haven't seen what, if anything, Hester, Olsen, or Wolffe can add to the offense. I'd imagine that Turner will look to work them in now that there is some stability (in terms of ball control) at the QB position.

I expect the Bears to go 3-0 in their next three games on emotion and pride and eventually we will win the division. This is rock bottom and we still have Brown/Anderson/Walker on our D-line........Urlacher and Probably Briggs at LB..........

The games will be close but I think we'll squeak them out and come out as one of the teams to beat after the bye week.

Fewer turnovers, higher completion percentage, better ball control, and sustained drives.

With all of our defensive injuries I don't know that Griese is going to be able to do enough to save us. We're not going to be trotting out an elite defense next week, we're going to be trotting out an average one at best.

With Griese now at QB, the bears should try harder to establish Berrian as their number 1 WR. With Rex as QB his full potential has rarely been seen, and hopefully Berrian and Griese will have a good chemistry.

He already is the #1 WR. He's got 16 catches for 221 yards. Moose is the next highest WR with 4 catches.

I was thinking more season wise, by the way, and not just what he'll do vs the Lions.

What stats do you predict for him if he starts the rest of the year?
