DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES

Post#1 » by NotTheDudeAbdes » Mon Jul 13, 2009 6:09 am

rooting for your own team aside, how do you guys realistically rate your odds at repeating. Do you think you will have home court in the finals? And finally do you think this team is good enough to get by Boston should you meet them.

I feel really good about our chances of defending our crown. If we were to meet the Celtics it would go to a game seven but it would be the other way around this time

I think next years team will be better than this years team if Odom gets re-signed. A healthy, clear-minded, Bynum will be the biggest difference. He should be beastin' next year.

Bynums improvements is the difference maker.

Last year he didn't come out of his shell until Jan... this year he will learn to trust that knee by Dec and if he stays healthy watch out... BEST CENTER IN THE WEST!!!
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

odds are pretty high. i think bynum is looking to add more strength on his knees and get the speed in his pivot back. plus we got artest - which is like a better, stronger, crazier version of ariza. teams in the west haven't really updated much - except for the spurs with the addition of jefferson and mcdyess. other than that, i dont think other teams are complete enough to compete with us to the top spot in the western conference. i think we went 65-17 last year and the #2,3,4 teams were 54-28, its a pretty big margin.
we DO need Odom to sign back to be a better team.

roster is already championship caliber, bynum or not

bynum just puts us WAYYYYYYYYY over the top if he stays healthy and can deliver the type of form we saw from him pre-injury both years he went down

I think our chances are rally right of repeating this year.

That, of course, considering that the Lakers resign Odom. Without that, I believe that we will have to witness major improvements by Bynum for us to still be considered the favorites.

And while we also need an upgrade at PG, I think we will be fine if that doesn't happen this year.
