It's a no-brainer for the FO... but that is what makes it tricky for them...

On Steve Nash:

Re: Tim Thomas
He could get a 1-year deal with us and hope for one more contract in 2010. He would actually play here, whereas he would be lucky to get 10-12 MPG on Boston or Cleveland with their current teams. If the Suns are interested, I would think this team would end up most appealing. Tim likes the style, he's played with Nash and he could easily leverage a 1-year deal into another 3-year one with the Clippers in the offseason

Re: Tim Thomas
He'll go to the Spurs or Lakers knowing how this offseason is going.
I would much rather get a proven starting C or PF and send Amare to C. That's the only piece we need.
We already have a few decent PF in Frye, Clark, Amundson. If we get a proven starting C then I think we can compete.

TT was great fun with the Suns, I still remember the corner pocket three he made in the playoffs for us...priceless!
Not exactly a defensive stallwart, but he can hit the 3-ball, and still runa and gun. Anyone know what kind of shape he has kept himself in?

Re: Tim Thomas
He's in pretty good shape.
I don't think the Suns want to go after him. I think the Suns want to develop their young players in Clark, Frye, Dudley, and Lopez, and Thomas would take away their minutes.
Although I would enjoy Thomas playing with us, because of his ability to knock down the three and play in the paint. He's a pretty good roamer, and if the Suns were to get him I could imagine some pretty good lineups with him.
Nash/Dragic
Richardson/Barbosa
Hill/Dudley
Thomas/Clark
Amare/Frye
If Thomas could come in and put up 24 minutes and Amare puts up 36 minutes that leaves 36 minutes left for the rest of the bigs. Clark can play 12, Lopez can play 12, and Frye could play 12. Let's face it, Lou Amundson is a nice addition to the Suns bench but I can't see him getting consistent minutes over the other bigs, Lou just doesn't have any real potential in him, plus his free throw shooting is horrible.
Thomas could also play the three, but I don't see the need for him to. I think Clark can learn alot from Tim Thomas as well, they both have similar game types in a way. Clark needs to bulk up.

I still remember the three against the Lakers, my heart stopped that whole play. Tim Thomas hit the game-tying three. I think it was a hit or go home three.

What the hell was Kwame Brown thinking on that play? And i thought J-Rich's 'D' was awful at the end of games (i.e. X-Mas Day)

^ It does show how incredible Kobe is... He had Kwame, Smush, Walton, Shammod Williams and a lazy Lamar Odom and still took the series to 7 games

I would LOVE for timmy to come back. He was so clutch during the playoffs. We could really use him on our team. He'd help shore up the PF position and he already knows the system. However this would hinder Clark's development.
