Pretty sure you can rescind a QO at any time you want/need to but am not positive.

This information is wrong

Eduardo Najera: Signed a frontloaded 4 year $12 million contract in July 2008. Last two years are both all but $500,000 guaranteed, and become fully guaranteed if Najera is not waived on or before June 30th 2010.

His entire contract is guaranteed except by 500k. If waived his contract counts as 2,500,000 in 2010/2011 and 2,250,000 in 2011/2012 and not 500,000.

Denver is exploring the possibility of trading Corey Maggette to get some cap space. I would like to save 2-4 million if possible while still bringing in some sort of role player (preferably swing man) on a cheapish contract (MLE deals are fine).

The Bucks are shopping Chase Bullinger and Daniel Gibson. Looking for help at power forward. We are also actively looking for another second rounder.

So ya, this will get messy. Skorff, as I posted in the FA thread, how are we going to handle this?

And yes MJallday59, I might be looking at signing that Lebron guy

it is simple. In NBA free agency starts on July 1st. so 23 days after free agency starts, teams can no longer resind QO's

most likely the big free agents will be signed within the first week

But this game goes in hyperspeed, so to say that is not exactly correct.

Feels like a snails pace to me LOL.

but

FA hasn't even started yet so a QO is mos def rescinable ATM.

Right, but some people had mentioned rescinding QOs AFTER FA started and they had begun to negotiate. So that's where the problems would lie.

that is perfectly legal, look at what Toronto did this offseason to sign Turk

the raptors to my knowledge didnt recind any qualify offers, they just held the bird rights to their unrestricted free agents, i dont think they had any restricted free agents.

This is not the same thing.

You are correct, none were RFA.

either way it is still legal, and the sign and trade allowed them to sign Turk without haveing to renounce the RFA rites to Delfino. and again the "rule" is you can still recind QO's 23 days after free agency begins

It is hyperspeed but June (the draft) and July (free agency) are slow; I was thinking something like 12 days after free agency starts would be fair. In 12 days most free agents will have signed (and after 23 days in the NBA most free agents would have signed)

Yeah, he told me he was waived like two days ago, was going to point it out, but completely forgot. It's sad, since he's done alot for the team and been one of the more active GM's.

FROM CLIPPERS GM:

"Clippers are dropping the unguaranteed deals of Dimitris Nichols, Rodney Carney and Ronnie Price to clear a further 3 million in cap space"
