Do the Maloofs want salary relief for Nocioni?

Would a Tony Allen/Scal/Pruitt package get it done. Keep in mind this is a financially motivated deal, not a talent deal..

I think most Kings fans want that deal done, moreso than our front office does. Which is mind boggling to me. As that same deal COULD have happened last trade deadline.

I'm meh on Nocioni. Good player, just not sure about his role on Kings. I'm sure he'd play great for the Celtics.

I'd do that deal.

That just happened.

I agree about Noc. Noc was more necessary before the draft for toughness but the draft really negated his value here. Petrie is very secretive about his intentions purposely so guys will have as much value. I see them unloading him for whatever they can get. Then we could roll the expirings into a deal with a KT and trade them for a better vet.

I still think we should trade he and KT for Kirilenko who is a lockdown guy at the 3 and plays Kobe (Dirk, Melo) as well as anyone.

This would allow the Jazz to keep Boozer and possibly keep Millsap.

I love Noc and think he is underrated...and I would do this deal. He would be a great piece to help the Celtics beat the Lakers in the Finals.

That alone is worth doing this trade. Haha.

This true. But for me I just see a lot of potential in Greene and Casspi. They are the future, Noc will never be on our team during contention so I don't necessarily see the point in keeping him.

Now that we have two young SF's behind him I don't know how much has changed. What I do know is that Petrie really likes Nocioni. I also think Nocioni is a perfect fit for what we have in the backcourt. We might be one Carlos Boozer or Chris Bosh away from really competing.

Well if you can find a way to bring Chris Bosh here to play with Kevin Martin then we'd be in business. Being a Chris Bosh away from contending is still quite a long ways away from contending. That being said, I have always thought he would be fantastic in Sacramento.

If Noc does get moved I think its much more likely it happens around the trade deadline rather than the offseason. I could see the TA/Scal deal going down if at the deadline another team such as LA,SA or ORL look better than the Celtics or if the Celtics have injuries to any of their core. If Donte Greene shows some progress I could see Petrie pulling the trigger more easily on any Noc trade.

Why would we pay $17,822,187 for Kirilenko rather than pay $6,850,000 next year for Nocioni?
And just to be able to play the likes of Kobe, Dirk, Melo when we wouldn't even be near contending at all.
I don't know about you, but I would rather have more cap space next year than pay Kirilenko that type of money, I mean what is better?
Cap space/Noc or Kirilenko?
The upgrade from Noc to Kir isn't even close.
Using HoopsHypes salaries it would mean going from having $35,240,405 in committed salary to having $46,212,405 or something around there.

I like Nocioni to some extent. He brings toughness, long range bombs, hustle, "defense", and other little good stuff. But if there is an offer of expirings for Nocioni, Petrie better take it. Nocioni's contract (even though it is declining every year) is still an unwarranted contract to have for the Kings.

Like someone said: We have too much money invested in Garcia, Beno, Noc...someone has got to go, and I think Garcia is the obvious choice to stay.

In regards to the brief talk about Bosh- If by some miracle we signed Bosh next year and had a lineup of

Evans/Beno
Martin/Garcia
Greene/Casspi
Bosh/Thompson/Brockman
Hawes/Thompson

That team gets a ring eventually.

Lack of ball-handling/playmaking from the three. That's what we REALLY need from our starting 3.

Disagree. We need Nocioni but 9 years younger. O wait....
