if they sign him, it better be for a minimum contract

Ugh, Sean May (may) have potential if he gets all that damn body fat away. But I hope the Kings don't show major interest in him. I don't like the fit.

No thanks on May. His knees are shot and he still hasn't been able to get in shape since he was drafted? I'll pass.

Why do people start a brand new threads about scrubs? The fact that it's about an undersized, fat scrub with bad knees makes it even worse.

Especially since there already is a thread about me.

To be honest, if the Kings are stupid enough to not bring back the guy that just did everything in the last couple of games of the year they've been complaining about guys not being able to do in Ike Diogu, Sean May is the only other guy I'd want them to sign instead. I think they need to try and hit a "home run" and go with an underperformer that still has a chance to turn it around, May fits the bill.

May isn't a scrub people! He was drafted where he was for a reason, and per minute (when healthy of course!!) he played pretty damn well. It all comes down to if he's healthy and whether he'll get time to play or not.

We either need a Diogu or even Williams as a backup. They are all backups. A guy who is injury prone like Gooden his whole career not just 1 year and wanted a huge contract was why we wouldn't re-sign him. I looked at May and he only played more than 35 games 1 out the last 3 seasons so I would agree that is severe injury issues. But I never understood the whole skinny or fat thing about your backups outside of being injury prone. As long as you have them signed to a yearly contract. Who cares if a guy who plays 12 mins and puts a 4/4 per game is fat. Donte is skinny and a role player with similar stats? Role players are role players for a reason because you like the starters.

Now if you want the guy to eventually be a starter like Donte yes I agree with that but just pure back up? Casspi and Donte will be more than role players later but how many of those guys can you have. Basically your starter gets 36min out of the 48min and you need your scrub to play 12 mins. I don't know why they haven't let Bryant play more in summer league he had the best college stats outside of Griffin I would have liked to see what he could do but he is a pudgy. Barkley was pudgy and he put up a HOF career.

Aw. You know we love you KIE! (no homo)

Anyway, I just don't see any reason to sign him. We already have an undersized PF who isn't fat or has bad knees, and in case if you forgot his name (which I admit is easy to do), it's KENNY THOMAS.

To the person that said May is NOT a scrub, stop it man your killin me. I have broken ribs and it's excruciating to laugh, so please knock it off with the May is not a scrub bit. Seriously the pickings must be very slim if we are talking about May. I really hope we dont try and bring him in, I would rather see Kenny on the court. OMG did I really just say that?

Look at his stats, he only played 23 games, but statistically speaking (and I know all the JT lovers out there don't want to hear it) but he produced at roughly the same if not a better level than Jason did last year. Proof is in the numbers sometimes. One scary number is the amount of games he's played in, the other not so scary numbers are his per minute stats. And I think Kings fans with any memory at all will remember just how talented he's looked against us in the past.

Really?

If I remember, he was still pretty bad in general against us throughout the years.

Ike #s against the Kings (9 games):

4.8/2.4/0.3
45.2% FG

Yep, he is very talented against us.

And that is not getting into the Thompson argument. I'm not a JT lover (well, I like him as a player but not nut-hugging him either). Per minute-based stats does not merit anything almost everytime besides pimping scrub players that plays a few minutes per game.

I'd love for the Kings to pick up Sean May. May put up about 12 and 7 in only 23 mins the year before last before getting injured. He says he's in the best shape he's ever been in and if he's healthy I think whoever picks him up gets a steal.

Just got done with the Sacramento workout. It was great!!! Shot the ball really well! G.B.M.S.

That was on his twitter.

Hmm, interesting. I kinda don't mind bringing May for the vet min on second thought.

Who was talking about Ike? There was one game in particular, it was at ARCO that May put a whooping on us, can't remember when exactly, probably two years ago.

Per minute stats can be VERY telling when there is a similar sample size. The only time you're really stretching it with per minute stats is when somebody is playing very limited minutes, 23 mpg is a fair amount of time. There is a difference between stretching out per minutes based on somebody playing 5 mpg or somebody playing 23 mpg.

Clearly you.

Besides, that one game when he "whooped us" happened during the garbage time when we whooped on the Warriors. And yes, Douby lit them up as well. Image

The Kings’ third victory in four games featured a breakout performance by rookie guard Quincy Douby, who scored 16 of his 21 points in the second quarter alone—doubling his previous high for an entire game—as the Kings opened a 36-point lead with an extraordinary effort from their reserves, who made one dominating run after another.

Keith McLeod and Matt Barnes scored 17 points apiece, and Ike Diogu had a season-high 16 during copious garbage time for the Warriors, who actually started strong before falling apart defensively in just their second loss in six games.

Key word:

Can.

EDIT:

Apparently, I'm a dumbass. Oops. Just ignore the last post. I didn't read that we are talking about May. haha
