Von Wafer

Post#1 » by Wayne Kerr » Wed Jul 15, 2009 12:54 pm

For anyone who cares,
IHG tweeted this last night...

"Suns getting Von Wafer, you heard it here first."
about 8 hours ago from web

i like him pretty good 3 point shooter(39%), athletic and really young(i think hes 23)

i dont know how good his d is. knowing the suns its prob. not good,

and he has been compared to JR Smith.
what would he be on our team? the third 2 gaurd? i think hes to small to play the 3...

Avg. 9.7 pts in 63 games last season.
almost 9 in 13 playoff games.

and for some reason i feel that amare and him would be bfffl

your not supposed to judge on a highlight tape,

but it looks like hes a decent passer.

and i found this...

"Word is trickling down that Florida State’s Von Wafer may have killed his NBA shot this week during a private workout for the Suns. Reportedly Wafer was frustrated by the physical beating he was taking from Jan Jagla and while driving to the hoop laid an intentional elbow to Jagla’s nose drawing a rush of blood onto the court. Wafer supposedly ended the workout at that point."

Sunsfan - IHG has his source. He used the medium of twitter to post the information, not as his source. What have you done? IHG knows all.

Von Wafer would be a solid signing for the Suns, as far as talent goes, but his skills seem to be in abundance with this roster already. However, if signed, he could be the replacement-in-waiting for Jason Richardson.

Orlando? Interesting. If IGH is right (and he was right about the Channing Frye signing) I think its a terrific move. We need another shooter IMO and he's a good one and a capable defender. I think this means Tucker or Palvovic are gone.

The only way I see this happening is if J-Rich is shipped out for a Big. And the only big that J-Rich could net us is Dalembert, so you do the math.

Nash/Dragic
Wafer/Barbosa
Hill/Dudley/Clark
Stoudemire/Frye/Amundson
Dalembert/Lopez

That's not too bad. Dalembert can't score worth crap but he wouldn't need to. He just needs to rebound and block a few shots....
My Frontline is Bigger Than Your Frontline

Robin Lopez 7-1 (LOL)
Amare Stoudemire 6-10 (???)

Wafer played some good hard-nosed basketball at the end of the season.

If there are any legs to the Richardson - Portland rumor, we could bring back Outlaw and sign Wafer to be our starting 2 guard. I fully expect Pavlovic to be waived.

PG - Nash / Dragic
SG - Wafer / Barbosa / Tucker
SF - Hill / Outlaw / Dudley
PF - Stoudemire / Frye / Clark
C - Lopez / Amundson

Getting rid of Richardson at this point makes even more sense. And i like Wafer's toughness as well. Get it done Kerr!

I would love to have either webster our outlaw. i actually think i would rather have webster. age/game.....but he has been injured alot......

but the line up that up put is young (minus hill and nash) and very talented.

Yeah, not much reason for POR to do a Webster for Richardson swap. Outlaw maybe, but they're high on Webster.
