are suns fans & organization BLIND
if the suns are looking for a center, its simple re-sign STROMILE SWIFT duh. He can finish in the paint, good shot blocker, he has a decent jump shot and you've seen this man embarrassed Yao Ming and Tyrus Thomas. He'll fit perfectly in the suns system and he wont cost much.

To answer the question in your topic, no, the suns fans and organization are not blind, but our star player almost was/is. (not funny in any way, just the plain truth).

Wow it was staring right in my face and I didn't even realize it. Hey Suns fans!! Lets just sign Stromile Swift and we no longer need to look for a Center.

Re: are suns fans & organization BLIND
Swift gets a lot of blocks but most of them come from weakside/help defense situations. His man to man defense against centers is pretty bad.
He's not the answer at center. What we needed was a big bulky guy who would physically force people out of the paint and make are frontcourt somewhat respectable defensively.
That being said there where times last year where I would have liked to see what he could have done with more minutes, but there's no way he should be playing center and there's no room for him at power forward this year.

There is no one out there who fits that description and is willing to take the veteran's minimum, but who did you have in mind?
I think everyone is making a big deal out of nothing.
There is no front court tandem in the NBA that possesses a defensive nightmare for us. All we need is players to rebound for us, and I think we got those types of players on our roster...

It's too bad Stro was so out of shape when he came here last spring - didn't get much of a chance to show what he's got left. Any word on him being invited to camp?
I'd like to see him as our last guy, for the min - less the rebate that's 800k. About as cheap as we could hope for.
man,. i wanted Stro to have a rebirth here.

stro looked terrible for us last year
id be okay with him as a last minute 13th man signing if noone better is around and he is committed to being in better shape

Keeping Stromile will revive ragtime's Suns Board posting career, and thus we must retain Stromile.

I'd prefer to get Skinner back to be honest. Thought he did alright as a back-up prior to getting Shaq. Lets rewind the clock.

You know its bad when you get excited about re-signing an aging veteran as your big off season move. I hate it when a good team has to rebuild. Not sure how that pans out with Amare looking like he's not getting trading.
Its terrible when you are right in the middle. Not really rebuilding for the future but not really contending for a title. Just happy to be the 7th or 8th seed.
Amazing a few years ago the suns were so exciting to watch and nearly made it past my spurs. I like kerr but you guys have to want his head on a plate by now.

if any nba team can at least try to remake his career, its our medical staff. He wasn't given a full one year under there treatment. I could be wrong, but they do make some miracles.

Swift looked like a young Garnett.
I'm all for signing Skinner. I always thought he played well for us with the minutes we gave him.

Yeah I would be happy if they inked Swift, but he is no center. If they get him, he is insurance if Amare goes down again, THIS TIME USE HIM!!! For center pick up I wouldnt mind Skinner, I didnt like the fact that when we got Shaq, he was tossed aside, I thought he was playing well in our system.

Skinner and Stoudemire had the highest blocks/minute ratio in the entire league when they were on the floor together.

Back in the day a rookie would be treated as a rookie. Robin Lopez' rookie campaign would've been viewed as a decent one. Give the guy a chance to start in his sophomore season alongside Amare and look for scrubs like Stro, Skinner etc. when it doesn't go as planned.

Regardless we still need a vet big, even if Lopez is our starter.

Re: are suns fans & organization BLIND
There's a reason why Swift isn't around.
Poor basketball IQ, reputation for lack of focus in practice and on the court, undersized, poor fundamentals, poor rebounder for his size and athleticism, poor defender both in terms of anticipation and post defense.
He's just not that good. In fact, he was pretty bad when he played for us, and hasn't played well in years.

I agree.
And since Brian Skinner isn't going back to the Clippers I believe the Suns should make him an offer.
