Re: Grizzlies Summer League: 7/14 vs. Knicks
Jordan had 13 and 8 in his first game. Thabeet wasn't notable in his second.... And "our bust" was picked at 8, not second overrall over Ricky Rubio, James Harden, Tyreke Evans etc.

Truth be told, all busts are not created equal - hence the need for cosmetic augmentation...

Calm down, lil fella, it's only summer league, and your fellow Knicks fan came to the Grizz board to talk trash (... about a summer league game for some reason)

Nope - not just you. The Ayatolla of Rock and Rolla >>> Thabust.
Haddadi = project in the very good sense of the word.
Thabeet = project in the worst way.

Marcus Williams hasn't had a bad game yet and is showing he can lead a team, and he isn't getting bigtime minutes. I don't know if it's a case of an experienced NBA player knowing what to do versus raw rookies or that he is simply that good. He isn't posting great scoring numbers but I think he is leading the summer league in assists, where the likes of Johnny Flynn and Ty Lawson are going for the points but not the assists. It's difficult to figure out. But I like what he's doing and I think he would look just fine on the big club this fall.
Oh, and not to be too negative, but hoopshype has Thabeet as the dud of the week. Ouch.

Unless another team throws serious money at him (assuming that despite playing on our SL team, he's still an unrestricted FA that can be signed by any team), I think it's a lock he'll be on the Grizz roster this upcoming year. Early on in the AI mess, there was a blurb at the end of an article that said the Grizz would find a veteran minimum type player to fill the back up guard spot if AI didn't come.
