I had always thought the UFC picked their refs, not the government.

With that said, Mazzagatti is better than this guy.

Dan Miragliotta.

The interesting thing is that John McCarthy is back reffing (has been for a while) and yet he hasn't done a UFC event since he first retired.

Both Miragliotta and Mazzagatti are awful. I love that Dana holds refs accountable, because the commissions do not seem to.

To be honest, I don't think much of most of the referees I've seen in the UFC. Since Big John is done, that only really leaves Herb Dean for competent referees.

Herb Dean and Big John are the gold standard. Josh Rosenthal and Mario Yamasaki are good as well. The rest pretty much suck.

Yeah. Gotta give Rosenthal and Yamasaki a lot of credit. They're underrated as well as Lavigne.

Lavigne?

He's pretty bad, dude.

I'll give you Yamasaki and Rosenthal. But, not Lavigne. He's had a few bad screw ups lately. The Phillipe Nover fight and the Sell/Brown fight, come to mind immediately.

Agreed.

Personally I would like to see more of Kim Winslow. From what little I did see in the WEC, she seemed competent enough.

That was the beginning of the end for Herring. From a poke to a punch that would send him flying lol

Mazzagatti has his moments, along with a bad stache.. but Dan Miragliotta is by far the worst ref in the ufc.
