Don't you think that Devin is to young to run a franchise?

Who is it going to be?

Devin's 26 and entering his 6th season. After being the go-to guy a year ago, it is certainly his time to run a franchise.

Hassell and Najera may have more experience, but you can't have 12th men as your leaders.

Keyon Dooling

He's been one of our main guys off the bench and is a veteran. He was a vocal guy in the locker room and even though he is a shoot first guard, he helped keep the guys together mentally.

I like it when your team's best player is of high character as well. So in other words Yi should be the captain.

I'm gonna say Keyon personally. I love Devin, but I don't think he has shown "leadership skills" yet. Keyon and Vince were the only ones that did it on the court as well as in the locker room from everything I read last year. Maybe to boost Devin's confidence, name him and Keyon co-captains.

I say Keyon. I just don't think Devin is that mature yet, I mean he was pretty much crying when he was benched last year.

Yeah but how can you have your 3rd String point guard as your captain? It has to be someone who is on the floor, and is your best player so I guess devin is going to have to step it up

Well there can be co-captains, but being on the court doesn't necessarily make you a captain. I mean, Ronny Turiaf is a captain in Golden State. It needs to be a person who can lead them in all aspects. I don't think Devin has that yet. If Frank was smart, he'd give him a co-captain status, telling him "this is year team now. show us this is year team" because last year, it was really just "Vince's team" in my eyes. I haven't really seen the leadership from Devin yet so I'm hoping this year he shows it.

In the meantime, if we had more than one captain, this would be my list:

Keyon, Devin and Brook. Keyon, though a bench player has the best leadership qualities hands down on this team at this point. Devin and Brook need to see management has faith in them and Keyon needs to show them how to act day in day out.

I think Devin should be the captain but Dooling is not the 3rd string point guard he is going to get plenty of playing time with the second unit most likely backing up Lee. Hayes will back up the SF. This leaves Simmons, T. Will, and CDR to battle out for playing time. One will start and one will be left out (hopefully Simmons). Though I bet we see alot of small ball just like last year with Simmons at the 4. I would love to see us trade him for a solid PF to back up Yi (a Haslem type guy).

Devin needs to show leadership qualities but he will be helped this year by Dooling

Don't forget with VC gone, I'm looking for him to step up as a leader also. I think Harris is ready.

^Although I agree he could be ready, it's his maturity that I'm questioning, that's why I agree with the person who said make Dooling and Harris co-captains.
