Suns Jersey Numbers

Post#1 » by TheMan44 » Thu Jul 16, 2009 5:51 am

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/ar ... n0716.html

Why is Clark wearing 09 number and Frye wearing 8?

In other words, do players have the option of having a ZERO in front of the number such as Earl Clark's case? I never knew players wore numbers with a zero in front like 01, 02, 03, etc. I've seen 00, but never a 09 in Clark's case.

Looks ugly. Fry with 8 is much better than 08.

09 means he was drafted in 2009, Lopez got an 08 last year also I think.

Yeah clark will wear 55, but to attempt to answer your question, I don't think someone can put a 0 in front of their number. Tony delk wore 00, but I dont think he'd be allowed to wear 00 if someone had 0, too confusing. J.kidd went 32 here and 2 in dallas stint number 2 instead of 05, if 05 was available to use I'm sure he would have used it... but I've never heard of any player having a 0 in front of any number other than 00.

A little off subject but when ever I think number eight for Phoenix one name comes to mind.... no not EJ, I always think of Trevor Ruffin for some reason.

He was one of my favorite players as a kid... kinda obscure I know, I think everyone has those type of players they were fans of that weren't all that great. Another one of mine was Marko Milic. Although I hated that we traded TC to get him... but the dude Dunked over cars.

It looks like Marco and Dragic played together if you take a look at the kock out video of his on Youtube.

Another favorite player of mine as a kid, who also wore #8 was "Super" Mario Bennett!
