What are our other options?

LAKERS fans don't worry there is life after LO. It's useless to sit here crying that LO will not be back to the lakers to repeat but hey I would rather sign other people than have LO who is not using his head well once again. There's still plenty of players out there. For the starter we can sign up Drew Gooden he is a wide bodied center forward who can help us especially if he will be healthy. Then there's Joe Smith who can play center and forward too and can give us veteran leadership. Chris Wilcox is also another solid candidate who plays tough defense. Then there's TIM THOMAS who plays the same with LO a quick 6'10 forward who can shoot from the outside. So I do suggest that Mitch ought to start his move right now.

Most likely it'll get combine with the many others hehe.

But if we ultimately lose LO and if these guys are willing to take the 1.8mil we have left (i think) then fine with me.

S&T will never happen because we will have to take a large salary of a player whom we may not need..

I would let LO walk and save $18 to $20 million a year and focus on the following guys in the order presented as they are achievable and will sign a contract for the veteran minimum which is all we have left at this point:

3. Chris Mihm (7'0") Veteran, knows system, blocks shots and plays defense.

His/her filler was Tyrus Thomas.
I know that's far-fetched.

I do, however, think Odom fulfills a need for them

I only included Farmar in the beginning of this post because with Hinrich; we'd have a logjam at point..

Well....I guess we can always count on Luke being injured...Mitch needs to trade Ammo, or else he needs to be a rotation-capable player because the injury bug will hit, we need to have the depth to survive it.

You think Gooden is anything close to Lamar Odom. There is a reason why his last game in a SPURS uniform was DNP coaches decision. The guy has naggin injuries and blow defensive assignments. If you lose LO kiss your back to back good bye.

Do you honestly think Gooden is your best option? The guy can play but has been injured as of late. I think you have a better chance filling the roster with a S&T for beasley then picking up Barnes for some depth in the back court.

If Chris Mihm is on the list then we should kill ourselves. The sign and trade ideas are off because they clearly said numerous times there will be no sign and trades. Besides I don't even think the Heat would do that.

Gooden is a decent option but there gonna be pathetically thin and they know it so they will probably sign him. If not they will need a good trade for future draft pick and Adam Morrisons contract.

Imagine Bynum and Gasol both have injuries. 500 team, time to get Odom.

I like the Tim Thomas thing but do you guys really thing it will work out. I do know that Tim has a great outside shot for a big guy and that he can play both forwards spots.

You take two super stars from any contender team in the league and they'll struggle. This year the talent level is so close its really going to factor on healthy and drive. If your team can stay healthy and still have that desire to win another one (outside of Kobe) you have a great shot. Still alot of decent FA that can fill a bench nicely but going to have to wait until this LO thing shakes out.

What's wrong with Chris Mihm? He had two very good seasons with the lakers in 04-05 and 05-06 and, if Bynum hasn't been as good as he has been and we didn't get Pau, he'd probably still play a central role on this Lakers team in his best possible position, backup centre. If he came in for 15mpg that's a guarenteed 3-4ppg, 4-5 rpg and a block. Not bad for the vets minimum.
