Until this dude decides to lose some serious weight he won't be a factor in this league. Oliver Miller can tell him about that.

Kwame Brown- 1st pick in the 2001 draft
Adam Morrison- 3rd pick in the 2006 draft
Sean May- 13th pick in the 2005 draft

Atleast one of these players should live up to their hype right?

And why shouldn't we? Exploring all options is key. Either way we need to bolster our bench and (IIRC) didn't Mitch want to draft May?

Ya he did, but went with Bynum because he said its hard to pass up on a 7 footer. Damn Granger was 17th in the draft. How sweet that would of been..

Let's all take a deep breath and relax.
It's just a workout.
We're not making him a starter all of a sudden.

 Excactly.

I'd be very surprised if the Lakers' FO wanted Sean May on this team. No business ever went under by thoroughly researching all plausible vendors.

Well maybe lakers are planning on elevating Mbenga, Powell, and Sun Yue. For mitch to go this low, who knows how hard these guys have been working... IMO, May is garbage. If Odom wont resign, then ya might as well save money.

So what you have then is garbage vs. garbage. In that case, you might aswell promote from within, thus use the fan-favorite more, and go grab a 14th man replacement. If i were Odom and i was reading this, i am supposed to LMAO or what?

this is bad news. Friggin Odom...

I feel some of you are being unnecessarily hard on him. He has showed some promise in his short career. Getting him for cheap now may prove to be a good move for some team. He's at his lowest point in his career, I'm sure he realizes this, and is trying to get back into form. Obviously he's not going to be a franchise savior, but if he can get back into form he can once again become a solid player.

Keep in mind too, that any player we're looking into at this point will be had for the veterans minimum. It's not like we'd be giving him a MLE type contract if we did indeed sign him. So there would be very little risk involved in this signing.

Things I did not expect to see this offseason:

1. Artest in a Laker jersey

2. Odom unsigned by July 16th

3. Sean May's name appearing in two separate thread headers on the main discussion page...

Welcome to being a Laker fan.

Apparently signed with kings...
Sasha Vujacic = The Phail Machine = The Ring Blocker

Trade Sasha before he ruins the Lakers next season.

May and Morrison

Its like the Lakers had good picks and drafted horribly

Its the other way around
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

All your problems are solved. You are about to lose Odom but dont worry Sean May will say the Day.
