There is no such thing as a white man. You can't show me a white person. They do not exist.

I must say, Millsap's (or his agents) comments about the situation have been both frustrating and insulting. He honestly makes it sound like the Jazz have done something wrong here. I personally feel like the contract is too much money for Paul. Ultimately, we'll end up matching for a myriad of different reasons. That doesn't change the fact that Millsap definitely has lost some respect in my eyes.

You know, I'll give agents a lot of leeway during the negotiating process, understanding that they have to say things to get their client the best deal; but these comments seem to serve no purpose. All they do is tarnish Millsap's reputation with the fan-base he'll ultimately be playing for.

Nice job, Uncle "D."

If Utah is able to match, however, it raises the question of how Millsap would feel about staying with a team that, according to representation, undervalued him.

"The fact that Portland came out and went after Paul so greatly showed how much they want Paul," Vartanian said.

"If Utah matches, there's nothing we can do," he added. "Paul will play hard and do what he has to do. But if we had that offer from the Jazz, it never would have come to this."

Really, I thought Millsap was a serious guy; with the offer sheet already signed, this crap is almost offensive to the Jazz organization. "

Hi, POR fan here and I couldn't agree with you more! These millionaire jocks think they are "disrespected" when the team does not give them everything they want - WTF? I posted about this yesterday on our Blazer forum about "Wonder boy Roy's" thinking that he is getting "disrespected" because the team only offered 4 yrs at MAX (over 60 mil) and he apparently was insulted, as much as I have liked Roy my response is a big F U. Hopefully pro athletes salaries come crashinf down like most other things in this economic mess we have - can't happen soon enough for me!

Millsap demanded 10M thru his representatives knowing the Jazz couldn't do that being already over the tax after Boozer coward option; KOC just told his uncle to go out there and set Paul's value; and now they say Jazz disrespected the player and made it sound as if Millsap is disappointed? :o

There is at least one report that say Millsap was offered a contract at $7 mil per season for 4 years by the Jazz prior to signing the offer from Portland. The Jazz originally wanted to spend less (approx MLE) as any team would. $10 mil per season, at this point in Millsap's career, is unreasonable. The Jazz wanted to wait him out as OKC wasn't seriously bidding. This is similar to the PHX Joe Johnson scenario.

The Jazz can match at a price per year that is not unlike what they have reportedly offered--it's just that that first year is a killer.

As to the comments by Millsap's agent/uncle ... not surprising and not a bridge burner. It's a bit of a slam on management that wanted to lowball, but it has nothing to do with the Jazz fans, teammates or coach. That's why the suits get paid their salary. They're big boys and girls.

I say this as a fan of Millsap's, as one who respects Jerry Sloan, one whose favorite player was Stockton, and ... I'm a lifelong Blazer fan. Good luck on the decision and the upcoming season.

The consensus, according to the Media and some excerpts from the Jazz front office, is that Utah will match. However, recently management softened their stance on the issue. And unless a deal for Boozer can come through in the next few days, we probably will let him walk.

Like I said earlier, I love Millsap as much as anyone. And furthermore, I definitely understand the "best option out there" arguement. But I definitely wonder...is he worth the kind of contract he's getting? I'm not so sure. But hey, I'd love to be wrong.

That puts a lot of pressure to make a Boozer deal quickly. I am surprised, but understand with the financial concerns.

It definitely does...but I think the general sense of urgency by the front office would suggest a deal is in the works (the multitude of Boozer rumors, comments stating the team wants to "go it's own way," etc).

Where are you getting this from? Dealing Boozer by friday will have nothing to do with matching Millsap. The jazz will match.

folks you gotta remember that the tax don't kick in until the end of the season,
they have no reason to rush a trade.
