I don't see anything in Indy that warrants much attention for our needs. Jack was the one guy, and now that looks like it's over.

I have about 10-15 guys in the NBA right now that I couldn't root for even on my team. In a league with hundreds of players I don't think the ratio is that bad.
I guess I was only considering players you hate in general. You seem to mention a new one every day. That number has got to be in the the triple digits by now...

PAGING BIG ED, PLEASE CALL GS:
Hoopsworld reports they are looking for a veteran leader who can help be the glue guy to make the team work. How ideal AMiller would be for them! I could stomach almost anything we got back in a trade from them outside of Maggette and Claxton.

Oh absolutely. I'm a hater through and through. I hate 99% of players in all leagues and like very few. To me my teams are the good guys and everyone else minus a select few are my enemies.

Re: Tom Moore 2.0
In my eyes, the only reason to hate a player is because he's done something to your team to make you hate him. Like consistently do well against you or hit a game winning shot. Like Prince and Pierce for the Sixers. Other than that, it makes no sense at all to hate someone.
To hell with logic I guess then...

Re: Tom Moore 2.0
Well I don't dislike all players equally. Some I obviously hate way more than others. Hate was probably the wrong word. What I should have said is that I don't really like many players outside of my own teams, except a few. But the fact that I hate a ton of players still remains the same. The number definitely exceeds triple digits if you count all sports combined. Mainly because there are entire teams, especially in the NFL where I hate every player on the team.

That had pretty much nothing to do with what I said, but okay.

Well you said you can't imagine someone could hate everyone, which I clarified I didn't. But as far as the original thing goes, yes it drifted off to another area.

Man, we're struggling for topics to talk about on a slow sports week. You know who I really hate? Brock Lesner.

Indy only has $5.2 mill to spend on free agents -- less than the $5.85 MLE -- so it'd probably have to be a sign-and-trade. Not sure what the Sixers would want in a situation like that.
If they will not take back a contract that is any longer than 1 year in duration, it would be pretty damn hard to do a 1-1 trade. If the would consider it, Jeff Foster or T.J. Ford could be options. Otherwise, Philly could take back someone like Murphy or Foster and Ford if Indy would take back Dalembert along with Miller. Doubtful though, particularly with Hibbert doing well in the SL thus far.

Re: Tom Moore 2.0
To kind of go off my GS idea, what about
Miller to Indy
Azu/filler to Phil
Foster to GSW
They need a big body down low off the bench, doesn't fit the run and gun, but he is a beefy vet, which is what they are looking for.

its a shame because maggette would really excel in the Princeton offense if he knew the meaning of the word pass

Re: Tom Moore 2.0
T.J. Ford makes 8.5 mil his contract has an opt out after the 2009-10 season. Its unlikely he'd opt out but his contract would allow the Sixers 2 years to slowly work Jrue Holiday into the point guard position in the NBA.
Bird loves Dre Miller and would probably be willing to give him a 3 year deal . Currently after the 2010-11 season the Pacers will have huge cap space as Murphy, Dunleavy, Tinsley, Foster and Ford's contract all end following that season. That's 45 mil coming off in one year adding Miller at around 10 in the final year of a new 3 year deal , still leaves the Pacers with huge cap space.
Ford is a solid 14 ppg 7 apg player who could be a fine 2 year patch while Holliday develops .

Sixers wouldn't want Ford because he'd put them into luxury-tax territory, has too many years left on his contract and is too injury-prone.

Am told Sixers are still waiting to hear if there's a reasonable sign-and-trade deal out there for Miller.
As for McCants, hear he's on the list of guys the Sixers have some interest in.

tj ford would be great but we are too cheap

If Miller leaves for nothing however, wouldn't Philly be willing to break up its MLE and offer two guys such as this more than the minimum? If they were willing to use the MLE if Miller leaves for nothing, that should mean that they are still willing to spend the $5.8 million or so on others. Since you can break that up, there is no reason why Philly shouldn't be able to offer more than minimum deals.

I agree with you..but what I hear is that if there is no sign and trade....we want to just spend the vet min and no more than a 1 year deal. Hope they "splurge"

Uh-oh. You're saying that they aren't even willing to spend what they were initially as you reported? Great to be a fan right now.

Re: Tom Moore 2.0
correct..unless they think it puts them over the top which it doesnt in this case...they just want to go vet min for one year.
the potential drop in cap for next year has them nervous.
no one goes to the games...ie....they arent making any money....ie..they got no money to spend.....they dont want to pay tax.
i suppose its possible to go above vet min for one year..but most guys want 2-3 year deals..aint happening here
