If there are some things that made me disappointed last year, his defense was one of those things.
I heard everywhere Mo was an very good defender, and I did not see it in his game, at least not like it was supposed to be.

Agreed. The thing that stood out to me most was game 6 vs Miami....that was the only game the Hawks let Wade have one of his classic "get to the basket at will" type of games and that was because of Mo and Solo. Outside of the game where Tony Parker scored 40....that was the worst pick and roll defense the Hawks played all year(and that was one of their biggest strength's IMO). There was a noticeable drop off any time Mo was asked to be our defensive "stopper" vs good wings as opposed to Marvin or even Mario West(in his limited minutes).

You need to pay a little more attention. He was are best man on man defender. The boy flat out worked his but off. And he is the second most athletic player on the team, so he has the tools and the work ethic.

Based on what? There are actually people on other boards who think Childress is a good defender as well. It's not hard to see that both fall into the below average category after watching over the course of an 82 game season(or 4 years in Chil's case).
And he is the second most athletic player on the team, so he has the tools and the work ethic.

The only skill Mo has that is above average is 3 point shooting. I don't see how he second best athlete on the team when he doesn't rebound well for his position, never get's to the free throw line at all,and shoots 38 percent on close shots which was by far the worst on the team. Those are the things that separate highly athletic players from the rest...not dunking on fast breaks.

Mo Evans defense wasnt good. especially in the playoffs. in fact i dare say he was a poor man defender throughout the season.

this is my favorite play that summarizes mo evans man defense abilities nicely

oh and by the way, Marvin williams is a much better athelete than mo evans.

Agree with johnny and will go out there and state that Marvin is our defender for LeBron. We don't have another guy to match up with him. Perhaps Barnes if this does come together, but Marvin is a good athlete and good length.
No one is going to stop LeBron any more than Kobe, but I believe Marvin is our best option on this team to make him work for his points. He just needs to be contained around 25-30 point mark.

And Evans did not impress anyone last year given the opportunity he had when Marvin went down.

I will agree, that like Barnes, Mo is a limited role player. He is not capable of replacing Marvin's offense. However, despite the fact that he got dunked on by Wally (I can't **** believe that, it looked like he may have been elbowed but that is no excuse) he plays solid defense, spreads the floor, and gets out on the break. He played a vital role last year, and will continue to do so. I would love to get Barnes too, but I am glad we have Mo going forward.

I think there is a tendency to think the grass is greener...while Barnes would make a nice addition I do not think he is superior to Evans.
