100% honest and serious here. He's fat, lazy, slow, doesn't play a lick of defense, and has no athleticism left. His knees are shot, he's regularly seen wearing massive ice packs after playing 5 minutes.
What he can do...I guess, is rebound at a decent rate, and he has a pretty good jumper. He's decent in the pick and roll because of this, and if you don't respect his shot he can burn you a little bit. Thats about all he's good for.

Re: May to sign with Kings?
He's a phenomenal scoring big man and rebounder... when he's healthy. His weight is the biggest contributing factor to his health and he seems to just be genuinely uninformed on the importance of diet on conditioning. Some team could get a really great player out of May, but he's burned Bobcat fans for too long, we've invested far too much time into him.

May has bum knees and no cartilage. You draw your own judgement.

Re: May to sign with Kings?
but he can drain that 20ft jumper all day long. pretty good hands around the basket. smart player. good passer. doesnt seem to be quite the rebounder he once was. good in high pick and roll.

He 100% knows where the rim is and has no problem shooting the ball at it. Good thing is that he can hit at a pretty decent clip................when he is healthy enough/not so fat that he can play.

Re: May to sign with Kings?
A fair assessment....He's a good player who has never been healthy enough to contribute on a regular basis, if the Kings sign him for a small contract I think your gonna get a steal and bobcats fans are gonna end up w/ egg on their face and this time I think they deserve it, the guy has had 3 knee surgeries and not been able to do anything basketball related for the better part of 3 years, he was never a small guy to begin with of course he blew up but if he is in basketball condition I bet you my last dollar we arent gonna find anyway better than he is talent wise w/ whats left on the market....you're never gonna get a true description of May from most Bobcats fans they all think their personal opinion is fact, I've been lucky enough to meet him a few times and he seems like a real cool dude, I for one hate to see him go & think its gonna be yet another mistake in a looooong line of mistakes by this organization....

sounds like you're the biased one because you met him a couple times (not hard to do, visit any of the popular restaurants in Chapel Hill, seriously not a fat joke), while we are basing it off of what he has done on the court.

No Im not biased cuz I met him...All that means is that I think he's a OK dude always willing to talk basketball and talk to the kids that came up to him, that has nothing to do with him on the basketball court...when and I know thats the big issue is the "when" he was actually on the basketball court I dont understand how you guys can say he wasnt a good player....The issue w/ May was that he was never healthy...so if the Original Poster is asking for an honest assesment of May I would think he wants to know about his basketball ability, which I will co-sign I think he's a good player....all the other stuff that was being said to me is biased against him, the only people that gave honest assessments of his basketball skill were BigSlam & Fats....
And if any of you have actually played a sport be it basketball or football and had a serious injury where you were told by doctors to not do anything that might reaggravate that injury then you know that you put on weight...I had one in high school and during the time I couldnt practice or run i put on 30 lbs, May was never a small guy and couldnt really do anything for 3 years....3 years....I never expected him to come back in basketball shape, although I never thought he would come back looking like the Michelin man either....
Im a UNC hater, never wanted the bobcats to draft May or Felton, but the guy asked for a honest opinion thats what i was trying to do......

Re: May to sign with Kings?
You don't think my assessment was honest?? He's a 6'9 fatass with shot knees that can hit a 15-20 foot jumper, and grab a couple boards.

I must admit that I am bias to almost any player out of Indiana, but May had to go!

Re: May to sign with Kings?
Where are you hearing this good news from?
I would have preferred that we sign May, because I wouldn't be surprised if he could contribute eventually. We've wasted so much time already with him to see him contribute elsewhere. At the same time, I'm not all that opposed to clearing house with some of our past draft failures. It's sometimes good to cut ties.

I'm going to be furious when he contributes somewhere for 70+ games.
