Clippers gunning for Grg

Post#1 » by MHZ » Fri Jul 17, 2009 5:47 pm

In more definitive transaction news involving the Clippers, L.A. has offered a coaching position to famed skills guru Tim Grgurich in hopes of convincing Grgurich to walk away from longtime boss George Karl. The Nuggets are working to convince Grgurich to stay.

Good thing Grg cares about winning. That's why he left Portland, because that organization was a huge joke. Can't really see him going to LA to be apart of that shipwreck.

How close was he to Camby and Iverson?

That may be the question, plus the have a couple of talented young players he could work with there, but if we lose him we could be in trouble.

Money could be a determining factor. I haven't met a person yet that didn't like money

Grgurich popular again.

Nuggets assistant coach Tim Grgurich is being courted by other organizations this week in Las Vegas, according to multiple NBA sources.

The longtime coach has been with the Nuggets for four seasons, and will likely stay with the Nuggets, but the team isn't taking anything for granted. Overtures to Grgurich almost always happen about this time of year.

Grgurich has signed year-to-year contracts in recent years, mainly to be able to leave quietly should he decide to retire. But the contract also allows teams to try and steal him away without him breaking a pact.

If he feels he's that close to retirement, it begs to reason he'd rather continue on with the team he's been helping to fine tune for years now, rather than completely start over.
