Re: wilcox
I guess that reveals a bit about how much we're hoping to spend on a backup PF. That or possibly there weren't enough minutes available here to attract him. I got to think that Wilcox winds up playing quite a bit at C given the makeup of Detroit's lineup.

Probably we cannot do any other movement until we sing or we do not sign Williams.

You're right IMO, but it can be frustrating to see some good backup signing with other team while ATL can have enough space under the tax to be able to sign these guys.
Right now, and depending on the contract structures for Bibby and Zaza, we are between 53,696,999 and 56,505,356 with 9 players (Johnson, Smith, Crawford, Bibby, Pachulia, Horford, Evans, Teague and Morris).
It would make it 10 with Marvin.
If we need 3 minimum contracts to fill, and even if we don't keep Jones and West and sign 10+ veteran, it would cost 3 x 1,306,455 = 3,919,365.
69,920,000 - 3,919,365 = 66,000,635, so almost 9.5M over the max current salaries.
if they want to decreases all salaries, because of the possible lower cap and tax next year, it could be a good reason, because a descending 40M/5yrs contract for Marvin would start at 10.1M, leaving less than three 10+ veteran minimum.
If Bibby and Zaza are flat, and Marvin too, we should be at nearly 63M, and have enough to sign a guy like Wilcox for 3M, ending at 66M for 11 players, so enough room to add two and even three 10+ veteran minimum. If we keep Jones and West instead of older veteran, it could give more room.
If the contract are ascending, we could be at only 60.3M with 10 players including Marvin, with enough room to add 3 players at 3M !!!
or 1 at the MLE, and 3 at the minimum,
or 2 at 3M + 2 or 3 at the minimum, ...
It would be the best to improve the team, but if the owners were OK for that, it would already be done.
That's why they are certainly looking at next year, and even 2011.
But between all ascending and more power this year, and all descending and less money next year, there is certainly a possibility to still improve the team, but it depends on Marvin contract.

Re: wilcox
I don't think we lost much on this one.
I feel the same way about Kwame Brown; you get what you get whenever these guys decide to play.
I don't think Wilcox will make a huge difference in their lineup; and they have Kwame already.
We need someone who can spell the frontline.
Drew Gooden probably is the best available, although it might take too much to bring him in and have him accept a very small role on this team. Zaza is always going to get the minutes first.
