Poll: As a Laker fan, do you like the Clippers?

So my favorite team is the Lakers, but I like the Clippers as well. I noticed that for every dozen or so friends I have here back home, probably one of them supports the Clippers and the rest are Laker fans. One thing that surprised me is that most of my "Clipper" friends (for example: 4 out of 5) dislike the LA Lakers, while only a handful of my "Laker" friends (for example: 10 out of 50) really hate the Clippers. It may be just me... but why do Clipper fans (in proportion) hate the Lakers more than usual? :dontknow:

Now I understand the reason for this sentiment may be like the sort of cross-town rivalry (i.e. UCLA vs. USC or Dodgers VS. Angels). But in this case, Clippers haven't really won anything in their franchise history, so I see them more as the younger brother franchise struggling in the shadow of its popular older brother. That being said, I was excited to see the Clippers draft Blake Griffin instead of teams like the Sacramento Kings, Oklahoma City Thunder, etc. During this past season, I was celebrating when the Davis/Randolph led Clippers upset the Celtics this past season at home, leaving Pierce and Allen (who both played 40+ minutes) dejected and confused. Ignoring the bandwagon argument for the time being, I don't see why Clipper fans can't support the Lakers in their triumphs and vice versa.

I believe the Clippers will be exciting to watch this coming season. They have some great pieces (if they know how to use'em). However, I really despise the ownership and coaching.

When it comes to picking L.A teams, its hands down Lakers. I would never never wish for the Clippers to do better than the Lakers.

no, not never! they are not the Lakers therefore they will always be treated as such! beat the other LA to a pulp!

although I should mention that I have a better chance to afford tickets to see the Lakers at a clippers game than at a Lakers game.

Ahahaha. Dude I totally do that too. Same thing when I went to school in the Bay Area (I went to Warriors games to see the Lakers play) and during my internship in D.C. (I went to Wizards games to see the Lakers play).

i don't really care either way, not much of a rivalry anyways so that's why there's no hate from lakers fans to clippers fans..on the other hand because the clippers have been in the basement most of the time, they hate lakers fans due to their success and banners :lol:

The Lakers are the only LA team for me.

The Clippers are worth watching when there's nothing else available on TV.

I've watched 5-6 games of their games last season.

I'll watch a few more this upcoming season if they manage to improve or Blake Griffin is revealed as a quality big man.

Mike Dunleavy is one of the select group I hate to see during an NBA game and the way he threw Elgin Baylor out of their franchise makes me hate him and that team even more.

Kind of surprised to see the lack of support for the Clips.
By no means am I a fan but if they're playing anyone but the Lakers I usually root for them because

a) still a hometown team to me
b) even if they win the game, they are never a threat to the lakers in the standings
c) feel bad for them sometimes, as someone said they're like the lakers little bros haha

the clippers are not a hometown team to me and I never will feel bad for them AND they definitely are not our little brother. That piece of trash organization is a #@#% stain on Los Angeles. I hope clipper fans understand this.
