How many wins do you expect from LA Clippers this year?

Post#1 » by dennis00 » Sun Jul 19, 2009 10:19 am

When you strictly look at their team, they are very good. Only improvement at SF is possible, and of course chemistry. We have valuable trade assets in Camby and Kaman, so getting a SF should be possible. We'll just have to pull the trigger.

Looking at the team, the Clippers were the greatest underachievers last year, as they have the players. So if you look at the bright side, the situation is much better than at some other bad performing teams.

So, how many wins? Poll. Play-offs or not?

It's too early to tell at this point, there are still rosters spots open. The wins will be more easily determinable once our team is done adding players.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

MId 30s to early 40s. Just out of playoff contention.

46-50 gms behind a healthy and motivated Baron, #1 draft pick, emerging star in Gordon and a solid core group esp if A.I. is signed before the summer is over.

I voted 46-50. Hopefully we dont sign AI. Lats year our main issue was chemistry and injuries. If we dont have any injuries and have good chemistry we should be successul.

It's too early to tell IMO. Let's see what other moves happen, and how players develop before we just way to early to conclusions.

I have to echo the opinion of most in this thread. It's too early to tell. We're going to add a few more players. We have a TPE and the MLE to work with, but we don't know when or how they'll be used. There's too many questions right now. All I can say right now is that I am expecting a better record than last year and the year before.

As others have said, it is way too early, this needs to be revisited after all the preseason games are completed in October. The roster isn't close to being set yet.

Baring injuries and Dunleavy, 82 wins.

Jk, but I'd say more or less around .500 is reasonable.

Yeah, but that's what make it fun! ;)

I have been on the pessimistic side the last couple of polls, this time I am picking 46 wins.

whoever voted for 40+ wins is a homer, be realistic. They will be lucky to win 38 in my opinion.

i think it really comes down to baron and kaman. if they're motivated and give it their all playoffs are possible. but i think it's going to be somewhere around 41-41. which would be nice to have.

i learned to not get carried away by our offseason... didn't work out the last few seasons. :-?
as long as our young guns stay healthy. i'm sure it's gonna be a great season. go clippernation!
formidable.

The Clippers have suddenly started making moves that are actually beneficial to the team. If they dump Thornton (doesn't matter where), they will hover around .500. Keep Al and they'll win about 35. I'm a Blazers fan, but I've always liked the other LA team as well. Hope you guys are back to your 2005-06 form soon.

We still need Thornton because he is the only true SF we have

While this is true, if we can trade him and pick up a glue guy type of SF, we'll probably would be better off.

I was just thinking of a 5 where we could have Baron, EJ, Novak, Griffin, and Camby all on the floor. How is this five not suited to run 'n gun?
