Artest Nearly Signed With The Cavaliers

Post#1 » by DubaLakers » Sun Jul 19, 2009 10:49 pm

Ron Artest told the New York Daily News that he gave serious consideration to signing with the Cavaliers prior to inking a five-year deal with the Lakers.

"It was close (to happening), but the Lakers showed more interest," Artest said. "They're my boys (James and O'Neal), though. Shaq is still my boy. I'm looking forward to playing with Kobe and going after a championship."

just more artest rambling imo. artest wanted to come here, and as soon as the lakers showed interest he jumped at it.
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

Two weeks ago, really? The article was just posted today in the NY Daily News. Maybe you should go apply for a job there, and take that journalists job, and take your boy kooner with you, he seems to know everything about everything.

Why are you acting like an idiot? Everyone knew about this since he announced that he'd sign with LA. He wanted to give priority to the Rockets first but they didn't want him after Yao went down. Then Lebron and the Cavs called then Mitch called.

He said it himself.

Quit acting like an a$$.

I may be patronizing you, but really who's the one being an ass? Think about it.

No more poo-flinging, please. Warnings will be handed out.

it doesn't matter when Ron said he could've signed with Cavs, what the gist is that he had a lot of options and staying in Houston was obviously one of the least considering the bad situation, and the fact that LA showed more interest (AKA Mitch calling immediately after the opening of free agency) AND the fact its LA..where he practically lives...as opposed to the unknown Land of Cleve helped his decision

Artest is quite the character. I love the way he just tells it the way it is. He is going to be fun to watch this year. So many people think he may cause chemistry problems but I think those days are behind him. The biggest problem he is going to have is getting enough touches.

Cleveland wanted to sign everyone this year. Every free agent with a sliver of talent was on the Cavs' radar.

Wishful thinking.
