Worth exploring?

Post#1 » by berserker » Thu Jul 9, 2009 10:03 pm

Chris Mihm just got waived from the Grizzlies.....

A legit 7 ft player, young, had some pretty serious injuries but my understanding is that he is healthy.

Would he be worth looking at as a backup C? Move Anderson to PF?

Only as a very last-ditch attempt. I say go for it if all the other options are gone, he has some offensive skill. But there are still better big men to look at on the market, we'll see how they deal with Odom or any of the others... Huge upgrade over Petro although that's obviously not saying much.

I'd prefer Channing Frye, Chris Wilcox, etc........but he's going to come extremely cheap, he has some talent, and.....he knows the lakers system, since he played there for a few years. I can't see how he'd hurt us.....

I'm trying to keep us out of the luxury tax as much as possible - if we could, I'd say that we should target Pryzbilla, but Portland fans don't want to give him up....

I'm a big token white guy fan, so I say it's worth exploring.

I would bring him in for the minimum, with the idea we are going into the season with 6 bigs, let the 3 guys who are not currently in the rotation figure out a way to earn minutes if they can. If not they are good depth in case of injuries.

Not unless Hunter is dealt. I'd say there are definitely better options out there for the 4th big in the rotation.....and we don't need another stiff sitting on IR next to Hunter. If Hunter is gone, then sure....i'm fine with Mihm taking his spot.
