Jack: Indiana Won't Match Toronto's Offer

Post#1 » by Pacino62 » Mon Jul 20, 2009 11:52 am

This makes me VERY uncomfortable. With all of the TJ Ford nonsense going on out there, why would Bird not match a reasonable offer for Jack? Could this bring more light to these fabricated Rondo rumors? UGH....I hope not...

LOL. Rondo is not going to be traded for Ford.

Nobody said he'd be traded for Ford. It doesn't mean that there isn't another team involved. The point is that Indiana is in talks with us....they just let a very young and talented point guard go for short money, leaving them with an injury prone TJ Ford. Something doesn't add up.

Well, I don't think Rondo is being trade at all.

It could easily add up that Pruitt is going as part of the S&T. Or that Tinsley will get re-instated.

Pacer fan here...I'd love to get Rondo for a package centered around Ford, but I find it completely outlandish. I question whether Rondo would be as much of a force without the players he has around him in Boston, he's still is much more promising and should have much more value than Ford.

I wouldn't worry about such a deal, because the only way I could see something like that happening would be if Rondo was actually an absolute nightmare in the locker room (which I don't think he is), and if he was, there's no way the Pacers would want to invite that back into their house...given their experience with Droopy McTinsleberry.

If Ford's involved in the Daniels deal, then it would be as a salary dump, probably for a package like Scal/TA/House + maybe a prospect or protected pick. That might put us in a position to avoid the tax next season (2010-2011). However, chances of that seem remote.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

How much is Jack's deal for?

If we are doing a S/T for Daniels could it also include Jack?

Jack signed a four-year, $20 million offer sheet with Toronto last Monday.

Pacers is losing money (They already commit almost 60M money for next 2 year). Jack is not the difference maker. So it explains why they won't match.

No. Since Jack signed an offer sheet with Toronto if Indy matches then they can't trade Jack for a period of one year. So Jack can't be included in any sign and trade.

Jack is not that good. Toronto is very desperate.

Who cares what Toronto does? Rondo is not being traded. Neither is Ray Allen. I wish people would just accept it and move on. Ainge did not bring in Wallace/Daniels so they can trade part of their core to rebuild chemistry again.

For the Ford stuff? It's just twitter garbage, perhaps initiated by an 8 year old who was dropped on his head as an infant.

Actually, this shouldnt really make any Boston fans nervous. If Ford was going to Boston, then it was likely the Pacers would match Jack and keep him as their starter. They arent matching, which tells me Ford isnt going anywhere.

The only possible exception to that would be some sort of sign-and-trade for Andre Miller.

And that seems highly unlikely unless its built into this Daniels deal.

Either way, theres no way Rondo is coming to Indy.
