He's an expiring right? Just trimming up some roster space I suppose. Sucks to see Madsen go though. Now we have another guy to play the 2.

It makes sense if Richardson is an expiring.

It would certainly clear up the frontcourt a bit. Do we think that trading Telfair means that they're confident that Rubio will be here this season?

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

If that's true, I LOVE IT. Cuts two roster spots, clears Telfair's 2.7mil next year, brings in a big guard to get minutes, and clears some of the fat from the PF position. Cookie's minutes would have dropped due to Thomas, Songalia, and Opec. Telfair's minutes would have been non-existent if Rubio comes over.

We're losing good character guys for a questionable Q, but he's an expiring filling in a gap at the 2 for a year, nothing more.

End of the day, all we did is clear two roster spots and cut $2.7mil in 2010 salary. We didn't lose anything or gain anything of value. Cookie and Mad Dog are nice guys and all, but they're not even in the top 10 on a contender.

I disagree with you on Cookie. I can't stand Portland (I consider them a contender) but he would be a great backup to LMA. I think there are several teams that would have been all over him this offseason had he been a free agent. Orlando? Cleveland? Id take him over Bass.

The ONLY thing I don't like about this deal is losing Madsen.

Does one of the open roster spots go to Henk Norel in the mission to get Rubio over? Interesting twist...

Nice trade. I wouldnt be a bit surprised if Q is just bought out or waived.

Another possibility is flipping his expiring deal at the deadline for young talent.

Craig Smith is just as good as Glen Davis and Brandon Bass, I think he's easily a rotation player for a contender.
