Shaq Question

Post#1 » by DubaLakers » Mon Jul 20, 2009 7:30 pm

Is it true that Shaq didn't play both games in back to back games when he was with PHX?

I heard this the other day. I prolly should be asking on the PHX board, but...

Good signing. It looks like the East is going to be the best conference, and the Lakers may coast rested back into the finals assuming LO is signed vs. the top heavy east assuming KG is back. ORL's looking scary.

I really thought LBJ, after easily deserving the MVP, working his ass off all playoffs willing his team to victories, gave up in that final ORL game, am I off base? He just seemed to me be going thru the motions, did he give up on his teammates...e.g. No answer for D12 at that time, writing on the wall, etc. Was he sick? Was he exhausted? That wasn't the same guy I'd seen all season and all playoffs.

shaq played in 75 games last year

as for lebron, he had 25/7/7 in that game 6, so it wasnt his fault that z got outscored 40-2 by dwight howard

Is this about Shaq or Lebron?
Is Larry Hughes having fun yet?

You know, there was a point when Dwight just bulled over someone, I dont remember who, and it was immediately after Lebron had been called for an offensive foul, that I thought I saw the wind kind of go out of Lebron's sail. It was like he knew he was getting jobbed. Now, all you Orlando fans who just read that settle down, I'm not crying about the refs, just responding to the op.
I for one cant wait though, to see how Dwight and the refs react to that being done to him. It should be entertaining to say the least.

Actually, he played 75 last season, which is the most he's played in a long time. He was held out a couple of times of the 2nd game of back to backs by the coaches to keep him fresh in the playoffs, but due to injuries and such, he played most of the games. He also missed a couple of games because of the death of his grandmother. But he stayed healthy, and if healthy, he proved that he can produce. He averaged almost the same stats as Yao.

I don't think Lebron gave up. I think that his team didn't play up to their potential. Orlando got hot at the right time, and no one on the Cavs remembered how to play defense.

When Amare went down he started playing in every game, but yes before the all-star break he didn't play back-to-backs

theres only like 7 or 8 teams that are even going to be worth a darn this season, so if shaq has to sit out a couple back to backs, i think we'll be okay

Seriously? I may be a Cavs fan, but to blame the refs is BS. Orlando was the better team, made the adjustments, and hit the pressure shots. If you want to argue what team will be better next year that is one thing, but last year was already decided. It is not as if we were only one call from winning or losing. We were 2 games short.

If I was a Cavs fan I'd want Shaq held out of the 2nd game in back to backs.
