Shaq is a legit 7'1. Big Show is BILLED as a 7-Footer, but clearly isn't. He's Michael Beasley-tall.

He's popular, he likes doing these things, and they make him money. The majority of NBA players, if offered the same opportunities, would do the same thing.

I would argue it isn't him doing "everything to remain relevant" but rather a reflection of his relevance.

I don't watch wrestling but I can tell you right now that if I owned WWE, I would offer Shaq a dump truck full of money to wrestle for me. At this point, he could probably make more money wrestling than he could playing basketball (but it's close).

He makes $20 million a year playing in the NBA. Wrestlers in the WWE work grueling schedules and only the top stars make more than a million a year. The average WWE salary is probably around $200k compared to the $5.8 million average NBA salary - there's not way any wrestler can make more money than any decent professional athlete.
