Predict KD, Westbrook and Green's averages

Post#1 » by Clangus » Tue Jul 21, 2009 1:38 am

Someone said it in the Harden thread. Its going to be more interesting what these guys average this season.

Im torn, part of me thinks al 3 improve, but stat wise someone has to drop. Im thinking KD averages close to 30ppg next season

KD - 29.5ppg | 7.4 rpg| 3 apg| 1 stl |1.5 blks| same fg% |TO 1.5pg
RW - 17ppg | 6.5apg | 5rpg | 1.5 spg | .7bpg | fg 44% (I'm hoping) 2to/pg (again being hopeful)
Green - 16 ppg |8rpg |2 apg on about the same fg %

that I tihnk is best case

if he shoots the same percentages, durant would have to take ~22-23 shots a game to average close to 30 points per contest. not that it isn't possible, but if he's taking that many shots it's unlikely westbrook and green will both improve their scoring averages.. also if he's asked to produce that much offense he'll turn the ball over a lot more than 1.5 a game.

i think of the three, westbrook is the guy who stands to have the most improvement. i think it'd be in the team's best interest if durant's scoring averages went down a bit so he can concentrate more on defense, and i don't see jeff green making a big jump.

i think hardens offensive game will take some pressure of durant to put up 30
so im thinking more

durant 25.7 pts, 5.4 rebs 3.9 ast, 1.2 steals 0.7 blks
westbrook 16.9 pts 5.3 rebs 7.2 ast 1.7 steals 0.5 blocks
green 17.2 pts 9.3 rebs 3.4 ast 1.3 steals 0.8 blks
harden 14.3 pts 4.6 rebs 4.3 ast 1.2 steals 0.4 blks
THUNDER UP!!!

Durant, I think another bucket is reasonable. I think he'll be able to add half a rebound and hopefully drop a TO.
27.5pts, 7rebs, 3.5dimes, 1.7stls, 1blk, and 2TO

Green, I expect more of the same with gradual improvements across the board.
17.5pts, 7.5rebs, 3dimes, 1.5stls, 0.5blk and 2TO

Westbrook, I honestly could care less about his points and in fact would like to see him score less but distribute more. Hopefully he minimizes his turnovers and brings up his FG%.
14pts, 5rebs, 7.5dimes, 2stls, 0.5blk and 2:1TO ratio with 45 FG% and 35 3PT%.

Harden, I see him having a very steady year for the Thunder.
15pts, 4rebs, 3.5dimes, 1.5stls, 0.7blk and 1.5TO

I agree with most of this but I wouldn't mind seeing Westbrook continue to look for his own shot with Harden on the court at the same time.

Westbrook 17pts, 5rebs, 5dimes
Harden 14pts, 4rebs, 4 dimes

That doesn't look bad at all to me. The great thing about this team is the balanced passing. No one needs the ball in their hands to be effective. On any given night, this team could win with RW, Harden, KD, or Green leading the team in assists. They are all very solid distributers.

Hi Guys

I drafted Westbrook in my fantasy keeper league last year (10th overall... WHAT A STEAL!!!)

Im really getting excited reading what you guys think he will average, that would be amazing for me!

As a Wolves fan I wish you best for the season, we don't have a chance to compete for a playoff spot in my opion but you guys have a bright bright future:) Hopefully in a few years, the Western Conference Finals will feature

Westbrook/Harden/Durant/Green

Vs.

Rubio/Flynn/Love/Jefferson

How awsome would that be! (Of course, in that case I wont wish you luck, I hope you understand)

Anyway guys, thanks for the read and as I said, im rooting for you in the West (unless in some kind of miracle the Wolves come flying out of the gate)
"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."
