He did excellent in the playoffs. He has a jumper he makes like 80% of time, and can bang in the post.
Some call him a scrub. Truth is he would be your best big.

I wouldn't mind Big Baby at all. I think he'd be a good pickup and a good fit but I wouldn't overpay for him which is what I think we'd have to do in order to get him away from Boston.

Re: Big Baby
I don't see the Celtics matching any offers since they already have 4 good front court. (KG, Powe, Sheed, Perkins) I don't see them spending more than 4 mill for a 3rd string big man in there situation when they have an 80 mill payroll already. Basically, Big Baby definitely will not be a Celtic next year. If they are match anything its definitely going to be a sign and trade. I think Dooling and SWAT for Big Baby is wayy too much. SWAT has too much potential and Dooling is one of our key players off the bench. Even if he is a 3rd string PG he will still play 2 guard. So he will still play at least 10-15 minutes a game. If we are going to trade for big baby the player we are definitely giving up is Najera. If they want Dooling to be included I think were going to have to ask for Gabe Pruitt. Basically the trade will be:
NJ Gets
Big Baby
Gabe Pruitt
BOS Gets
Najera
Dooling
NJ Gets
Big Baby
Gabe Pruitt
BOS Gets
Najera
Dooling

Powe is an unsigned free agent rehabbing from ACL surgery.

Re: Big Baby
Powe is gone the only other big Boston would have without Davis is Scal.
Davis is looking to cash in, he wants the whole thing a 5 years 34 mil deal. While it isn't likely it is also only the middle of the summer and when S&T deals get kicked around and teams are already using contracts on the books things can get a little wild.
Boston would keep him at Brandon Bass or Jason Maxiell money which is 4 -5 mil a season but if a team gives him a the full MLE with raises that will average between 6-7 mil a year then they will probably let him go.

Re: Big Baby
even if powe isn't in the celtics you still have Perkins KG and Sheed are legitimate starters to any team and all will play over 30 minutes per game. The Celtics will still be thinking of it they won't pay him an MLE to 4 mill just to play 10-15 min per game.

Re: Big Baby
Hence the reason I would rather we just snag Powe for the minimum.

We actually are having this debate on our board now. We pay Scal 3.5 mil to not play at all if we can help it. Baby is 23, Perk is more of a 25 mpg guy, and KG (33) and Sheed (35) are old. So yeah sometimes there will be only 10 mins to play but if somebody goes down which all 3 show a tendency to do then you are screwed. The team is telling anyone who will listen that they will match.

The problem with Leon is that the most recent word is he will start playing ball in FEB and NBA ready in MAR, that is two months later than the last time. I just don't see it happening for him this season.

Did nobody watch him during the season? He did well against TWO teams in the playoffs on his contract year.

I was thinking that he might not get picked up at all and just signed to a few 10 day contracts when he is ready to come back, or more likely he gets signed to a 1 and a half year deal like Shaun Livingston. OKC signed him for the remainder of last year and this year, but this year was only guaranteed for someething like 100K from what I remember and they have till sometime in the late summer to pick up the option.
