The fact that you suggested we trade for Bruce Bowen should automatically revoke your Suns RealGM posting privileges, your ability to attend a game at US Airways Center, and pretty much ban you from the city limits of Phoenix.

BobbieL wrote:Good call RealSunsFan about Tucker not playing - based on the AZ Republic story - or maybe Coro's blog - Majerle was not too happy with Tucker - something about "it is what it is" . I also read on this forum that his contract is not guaranteed until 10/1... so if true, you add up the Sasha and Tucker contracts, that is $6m or so - of which only $1.5 guaranteed - the Suns could then take back up to like $7m -- but again, are they willing to pay even more of the luxury tax after dumping the Shaq contract to save money. As if they waive Sasha - that is like a $6.6m cash savings - sign another veteran for no more then a million, so still net $5.6m or more depending on the player signed.

I would like them to use the Sasha contract - at least try to get something of value for Shaq - even though I do get - that was a financial move totally.

Well, if there is "any truth" to the statement that Sarver would be willing to pay a little lux tax if we had a contending team, then maybe that is an otion, but that is debatable. I know we discuss alot about how the Shaq trade was financially motivated, and I agree it was, but if you look at the totallity of the deal, should a trade like what we mentioned above happen, we would still be paying out less than if we kept Shaq and would have better fitting parts to our game style. I know Shaq had great numbers, but like I said in another thread here, his game just wasn't condusive to how our team plays, it was either he had a good game or the rest of the team had a good game. I don't know, just my opinion and a little food for thought.........

you are right about the cash savings from the trade. as first off Shaq for Sasha and Wallace was savings of $2 (the suns even got a trade exception I believe) - so that is $4m dollar net cash

wallace buyout - again, for going from the $14m to $10m - that is another $8m net,-- so that makes around $12m. and if they were to waive Sasha - that is the magical total of $18m total figure bandied about in real dollar savings

so correct - if the suns do nother else - the shaq trade did give good savings and it might allow a basketball move. maybe they don't get all the savings - but do make themselve better

Oh, I think it's a great idea to get Bowen here. All that desert, so many locations for a shallow grave ...

Lol thats what I was thinking.
You can check in another forum someone recommended Bowen would be a good fit and he could play perimeter defender and I said that would be great so he'd get shot at as soon as he arrived in Phoenix.
