Web updating.
google docs and shamsports are getting behind on the transactions and I am wondering if it is because of time constraints or veryifying the validity of trades. If it is the former, I would not mind helping out if there is anything I can do over the web.
If so, please e-mail me at hamez1@gmail.com.

Re: Web updating.
I had a huge amount of coursework in for July 17th. On that night, I spent a lot of time running around in the rain while very scantily clad. (That's just how I roll.) The same thing happened the following night. And now I'm ill.
So those are the reasons why things have stopped happening. It will get done when I'm better.

lol
Running around in the rain is fun.
But anyways, I was just offering my services. I'm glad you are doing better.

Re: Web updating.
When you say "Google Docs" are you referring to my spreadsheets at http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key= ... utput=html ?
Let me know what I'm missing if that's the case. I just updated this morning and do so on the fly as new announcements are made.

Re: Web updating.
But Beaubois (Dallas) numbers are either incorrect or reported incorrectly.

Also, we do have our MLE since Orlando matched Gortat.

As the 25th overall pick, he's slotted to receive almost $896,200 this season and $963,400 next season, with a $1.03 million option for his third year.

Re: Web updating.
Thanks for the catch on the MLE. Regarding Beaubois, the $896,200 is the scale amount. Teams are able to sign 1st round picks to up to 120% of scale and traditionally do.
However, as Sham has mentioned, a rough economy may change that tradition. But until I find a confirmation, I default at 120% of scale.

Re: Web updating.
I noticed Sham you are reporting a 3rd year on Marc Gasol and google MilMinMan you do not have it but have 'unlikely incentives' listed. We've been debating his status, is he an Arenas 3-yr contract or is it straight guaranteed, or no 3rd yr or unachievable guarantees, etc... Any help guys?
Thanks.
Thanks.

What is an Arenas 3-yr contract?

Re: Web updating.
Shamsports shows a 3rd year Memphis option on G2, but most others don't so seeking clarification. Arenas bolted causing the cba change re 2nd rdrs is what I was referencing, not sure if it even applies, but G2 is a strange case coming from the ESP pro ranks as a 2nd.

The Arenas rule only applies to free agents who have completed their rookie contracts. MGasol is currently on his rookie contract. It is three years in duration with no options for either party, and to my knowledge has no bonus clauses in it. I'm curious where 3M got the info that his contract contains bonuses.
Also what you refer to as a third year Memphis option on Sham's site for Gasol is actually the amount his qualifying offer will be in the summer of 2011 should Memphis decide to tender one to him after he completes his three-year rookie contract.

Re: Web updating.
So that's where the confusion is. It (3rd year q.o) is listed on Sham but nowhere else even those sites do list other players with qo's. Ignore the Arenas thing because that's all wasted breath since it doesn't apply.
Trying to get at the crux of whether Gasol is UFA or RFA after '11 season since he signed an unconventional 3y/10+m deal to come play. Why would there be a q.o? Wouldn't he need to renegotiate an entire new deal, or walk?

Other than first round draft picks still playing under their rookie scale contracts, a player with three or fewer years of service in the league is eligible to receive a QO from his former team. If he receives a QO he becomes a restricted FA. He is not required to accept the QO. He may negotiate a new contract with any team. If he receives an offer sheet from another team, his former team has the right to match the offer sheet and retain his services. This will be the case for Gasol in the summer of 2011.

As Dunkenstein says; with but one exception (players on rookie contracts who have had options declined), all players with three years or less experience can be made into RFA's whether they like it or not. I have made it my practice to list those QO's until the day that they don't get offered.

Alsl, take note of Hamed Haddadi's contract. He has one, too. Their situations are exactly the same. The only difference is that Gasol signed for more money. Yet that's also not relevant.

I haven't seen anyone sign for less this year. But, you'd probably know better than I

Just an update for ya MilMinMan
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4362157
"NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com's Marc Stein that Thomas signed a one-year deal for the NBA veteran minimum of $1,306,455. Thomas"
Also Mike Fisher from Dallasbasketball.com says his sources say Gooden's guaranteed money is "no where near $4.5 mil" but he is trying to confirm that before contradicting Marc Stein.

You're welcome. I guess we will find out soon what Gooden's contract is. A poster (I would not call a single poster reputable) said he heard from a source that Gooden's contract is in the $2.5 mil to $3 mil range. I'm still waiting for Fisher to clarify his contract as he said he will let me know as soon as he knows.
But why did you list Thomas as $825,497? A 12- year vet is supposed to be $1,306,455, right?
And Ross, a 5 year vet, should be $959,111, right?
