I don't even know what to think anymore really. I really believe that we are decimated to the point in which we won't take on any salary. Losing an alleged 700 Million to Madoff seems to have really handcuffed any moves for us.

On one side of it you think Halladay and Santana would have to be unbeatable.
On the other side of it you think we would have no farm system after this.

With the year were having, we need bats instead of arms. That goes for the future to.

Aside from Fmart none of those prospects are anyhting special and even Fmart is only the 30 something best prospect in the minors were not talking the next Pujols here, our farm system stinks anyway and were a win now team

Next year if you have Santana and Halladay at the top with Krod closing and were healthy with Beltran Wright and Reyes id defenitely take my chances

I call this rumor BS.

1. That package is awful. Ruben Tejada, Niese, Parnell?
2. Extension window please? Is there a guarantee that Halladay wants to re-sign with the team?

Why would you trade for him when that team isn't going anywhere this year?

It came out the next day that the report was false.

Why would Halladay waive his no trade clause for the Mets, anyway? Doesn't make much sense for Halladay, the Jays (who should get a lot more than that), or the Mets.

The Mets are in the National League and play in an extremely pitcher friendly ballpark. Was hints that Halladay would prefer to go to the National League (and I'm sure the Jays would love to ship him out of the AL altogether if dealt).

But, yeah, that package from the Mets really isn't much.

But, yeah, that package from the Mets really isn't much.

Halladay may prefer the NL right now because the only other AL teams worth playing for are the Yankees and Rays, and the Jays aren't going to trade him in the division. Halladay isn't the type of guy worried about running off to the NL since he has dominated the AL east for his entire career, and while pitching in a pitcher friendly park is always enticing, no way would he accept a deal to a team 10 games out...doesn't matter if the walls in CitiField were 600 feet away from home plate.

The only other teams I can see would be the Angels and Dodgers, depending on who has more to give up. The White Sox have been mentioned but I don't see how they would have enough to get a deal done. Even if they did want to trade Halladay in the division to get more suitors, neither the Yankees or Red Sox are in favor of dealing any top young talent at the moment.

My guess is he won't be traded, but if he is it will be to the Phillies or Dodgers.
