Lee has a solid midrange game

touche
but in comparison
he started 29 games averaged 10
started 73 games averaged 16

i think if lou works on his offense he can have a spike in points to when he gets the mins
i think lou has the determination to become Lee but a more athletic ,harder working, better defensive, animal version

Maybe, since he's already going to be turning 28 this upcomming off season so I think what we see is what get with him, It's probally to late for him to develop a midrange game but hopefully he can improve his free throws at least.

Yes indeed. Lou will get 3 years 10 million (3.3 million per year).

Why?

Let's observe the following contracts that currently remain in the NBA right now:

Jarred Jeffries (2 yrs 13 million)
Darius Songaila (2 yrs 9 million)
Nazr Mohammed (2 yrs 13 million)
Dan Gadzuric (2 yrs 14 million)
Matt Carroll (4 yrs 16 million)
Desagana Diop (4 yrs 27 million) <------------- WTF????!!!!!
Erick Dampier (1 yr 12 million)
Reggie Evans (2 yrs 10 million)
Marko Jaric (2 yrs 14 million)
Marcus Banks (2 yrs 9 million)
Vlad Radmanovic (2 yrs 13 million)
Nick Collison (2 yrs 13 million)
Daniel Gibson (3 yrs 13 million)
Brian Cardinal (expiring 1 yr 7 million)
Mark Blount (expiring 1 yr 8 million)
Kenny Thomas (expiring 1 yr 8 million)

Lou WILL get 3 yrs 10 million.

Anybody who disagrees and thinks Lou is not worth 3 million per season is down right nuts and does not know a lick of basketball.

Just look at the contracts above, look at the talent that is Lou, do your research, then speak.

And PS- Person who said Lou is undersized is nuts too. Since when has 6 foot 9 230 pounds been considered undersized at power forward? And considering his strong yet lean body mass and vertical jumping ability - I don't think "undersized" is the right word. If anything, he is the perfect size for a power forward esp. for a run and gun team.

Just because other teams overpaid for players doesn't mean the Suns should also. How exactly does Lou deserve a larger contract than Grant Hill brings so much more to the team even at his age? What makes Lou different from any other energy and hustle player in the d-league? Replace the name Lou Amundson with Taylor Griffin and the Suns would be getting the same exact player, 4 years younger on a rookie scale contract...

#1: I did NOT just see u compare Amundson to Taylor Griffin, did I? LOL

#2: Grant Hill is 36 years old. He has made millions and millions of dollars in his long NBA career. If Lou was 36 and still hanging well in the NBA, he too would take 1 million per season since he would have already made well over 50 to 100 million in the past 15 years.

#3: Lou is young, energetic, favorable, and plays pretty good defense: NBA teams love that and history has shown these types of guys get paid big bucks esp. if they are young. Didn't Varejao just score himself like 50 million last week?

Believe me. U need to appreciate Amundson because he is gonna be outta here next season for a team like Magic or Warriors who will pay him 3 million per year.

Oh MVF, "I did NOT just see u compare Amundson to Taylor Griffin, did I? LOL" - Enough said.

You can't compare vets like Hill to younger guys, they aren't in it for the money.

And AZB53, I can definitely see that.

Reggie Evans got a long term 4 million/year deal, and the only thing he could really do well is rebound and grab balls . Lou has more intangibles and is a better defender. If he continues to play like he did off the bench last season, someone will give him at least 2.5/year. I don't see why 3 would be a stretch, there have been a lot of players without offensive games that have gotten way more than that.

Very good points.

1. Lou will most likely join the Spurs because that's just the way things go here in Phx.

2. Whoever signs him (most likely Spurs) will give him 10 million for 3.3 million per season.

3. As mentioned above, you cannot compare Hill to Amundson (vet. versus youngster who wants money)

4. Also agreed on Reggie Evans point. He is getting 4 million a year. I don't see how Amundson is worse than Evans. The Amundson camp is gonna bring this topic up next year when he signs a multi-year deal.

Bottom Line Suns Fans: Don't forget to appreciate Lou because he is all but gone next season.
