The weight that is being put on "market size" is getting kind of ridiculous. Some of the biggest markets in the country are horrible cities and some of the mid-sized markets are great places.

The size has little to do with livability. LA and Dallas may be huge cities, but San Francisco and San Antonio are much better places to live.

Memphis, the smallest market on the list, is a kick ass city.

New Orleans is the second to last city by population on the list, but it has been growing like crazy in the last year and is still #1 in live music, cocktail hours, nightlife, "wild weekends", "girlfriend getaways" and number two in the country in gay friendliness, overall food and dining, friendliness of residents, and people-watching. It's also filled with incredible architecture, has an amazing hip hop scene, and it's fun all year, day or night.

I'd rather gouge my eyeballs and eardrums out than live in LA or Dallas, but I'd move to Memphis or New Orleans in a heartbeat and would gladly move to SF or San Antonio. I've never been to Philly, but a friend of mine lived there for a while and had a GREAT time booking shows. Point is, the size of the city doesn't mean it's the best or highest profile. New Orleans is a famous, high profile city with lots of national and international attention. So is Vegas, but it's not on the list.

The teams that are trying to make sign and trade noise for James are over the hill already and James would simply be a part of a frustrating rebuilding process within 2-3 years on most of the "win now" squads. The most sensible destination for him is a young team with an elite young star for him to join and a young, promising core.

Sure he can get a sixth year through a sign and trade, but it doesn't matter in his case because he'll get the max again when his contract expires no matter if it's five or six years from now. He won't be leaving 30m on the table because he'll simply get it when he signs his next contract... otherwise Chris Paul and Deron Williams would have left more than that by signing shorter max deals.

What im saying is if Dwade re-signed with Miami, Dirk resigned in Det. both which of which are not the youngest of teams, I believe he should consider LA, i do have a solid team with some cap space to make improvements, and the most important thing right now i believe for lebron are winning now not 3-4yrs done the line as well as a big city. Do u actually think Lebron wants to wait till like hes 30 to win his first championship i dont think so...

and sabas theres NO WAY IN HELL that LEBRON would sign with MEMPHIS OR NEW ORLEANS in REAL LIFE it doesnt matter who is there it is not a premier city that is recongnized worldwide, do u think if you go to china they would know those cities or if you go to any european country do u think they would know where memphis or New orleans was i dont think so.. i think u just have a bias opinion since ur the NO gm

BI and BBH, y'all can rip on what I said all you want, I wasn't saying anything specific about anyone's team, but I guess I hit a nerve with you guys.

I said my piece for open minded posters to consider, so y'all can take it with a grain of salt but I'm not about to pollute this thread with back and forth when a your mind is already made.

nah did not hit a nerve I do not care I am no longer in the running for LBJ after seeing what other teams are willing to give up for him. In fact if you get him it helps me, I do not want LBJ in the east, giving my team hell.

lol, at the updates. I'll admit, I've really enjoyed refreshing for new replies and takes on the "Bron fiasco." It'll be a sad day for everyone when he's signed and traded to Indiana. :D

I don't think there is much weight being put on marketsize other than 2 posters.

and

I love New Orleans, San Fran(used to live there). Seattle, and Memphis. Very hip places IMO. I like them all more than where I am at the moment.

I think it's been decided he's going to Boston.

Big market, international appeal (Yi), young core, stud big man (West), rich team history...

Everyone else should just give up, right?

Oh, and with regards to New Orleans - it may be hard to sway LeBron when nobody shows up at your games...
