Report: Lakers and Odom come to terms.
4 years/40 mil per Wiretap. I'm in the contingent that loves just about any deal with Miami, so hopefully they'll be more inclined now to swing us either Beasly or Haslem
Brevity is the soul of wit.

I would have rather seen Odom go to Miami and the Jazz keep Boozer and make a title run. Now the Lakers are going to be really good instead of just good. Boo....
Jerry Sloan >>>>>>>> Everything else.

Richard Hamilton > Battier > Tyrus Thomas > Beasly > Haslem
I hope Jazz dont get Beasily as he is extremely over-rated. Sloan will bench him bc he shoots too many jumpers. He will not do well in Utah and Haslem is not an impact player

This isn't good news if true. The lakers are already strong enough.

This makes the Heat less likely to make a trade that takes on extra salary. With Odom they would be looking for a championship(I know, lol) piece. Now they are still outside looking in at the contenders.

I don't think it matters either way. Miami still may go after Boozer because they can sell Wade on landing another FA next summer. If they don't acquire Boozer, Wade may not sign an extension. If Miami is indeed out of the running, then one of the "ambivalent" teams will eventually show more serious interest.
Despite all of the news to the contrary coming from bulls.com, I think the Chicago is desperate for a guy like Boozer now that Gordon is gone. They aren't going to want to wait a year for what could easily end up being a non-event next summer. Their offense is going to get pounded by the big boys this year if they stand pat. Do they really want to wait and sign Boozer next summer? I doubt it. They are just playing poker with KOC, and they know what they would become if they were to trade for Carlos. With the economy being the way it is, they're going to want to have a contender now.
How many opportunities are they going to have to match Rose up with a PF like Boozer? Not very many. Toronto is positioning itself to retain Bosh, and he might just as easily pick Cleveland or go wherever James or Wade go. There are too many options and scenarios for them to take that risk.
Aside from that, the Bulls just signed Pargo who is a great scoring PG off the bench, and they re-signed Hunter. Are they really going to keep 4 point guards? Somehow I think not. They are going to deal, and Hinrich is going to be a part of it. The question is with who.
Boozer fits their needs to a T. All this character talk they're spouting is just jacks and queens. The aces are going to come out before training camp. They might even come out before the end of July.

Look at it this way: Lakers changed Ariza (a player we're not used to control) for Artest (a player we're used to control).
