Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
Speaking of trades...I would listen to offers for the only 3x MVP in this league if they're good enough...
reluctantpoet621 for aim or post the offers here.
Bear in mind it has to leave me in an excellent position moving forward, otherwise there's little point in trading a GOAT candidate.

So just to clarify: is it ABBAB or ABBBA for the first part of the draft? It's a pretty significant difference imo

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
Just so there need be NO confusion:
1-14
14-1
14-1
14-1
1-14
14-1
1-14
14-1
1-14
14-1
1-14
14-1
In other words, identical to the normal snake other than round 3, where the order is opposite what it would be to make up for the advantage of the first few picks.

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
I'm worried this won't be seen in the other thread, but for people who are going to work or know they won't be able to pick, I'll be around and offer the email:
artiethestrongest@gmail.com
If I pick before you do, you have my word I won't open your email until after I've made my selections.
I also suggest stopping the clock at night.

Or maybe give them 8 hours instead of 4 after midnight

In other words, simply remove the 4 A.M. deadline?

Is all this eastern time?
If so that gets real rough for me if I have a morning deadline.

Looking to to trade, want another 1st or early 2nd. Hakeem can be had but it will take a lot to get him.

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
Its too early to talk trades.
Nobody has anything yet....
Trades are also tricky because everyone must have a 12 man roster, no more, no less.
I actually rather doubt I'll be looking to make any deals. I'd rather just draft my team. If you want something I've got, speak up on my email, but I won't be initiating.

Pistons, it is eastern time, but it's not as bad as you think. I know Booz has taken awhile, but everyone else has picked very quickly. For the most part, I expect people to be on the clock well before their deadline, sometimes 24 hours before. So you should have ample time to make your selections.

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
^My issue is that a situation could arise where my window to pick is between 1am and 5am my time.
I don't usually get up until 9am on many days, which isn't till noon Eastern.
I don't want to have to change my lifestyle just so I don't get skipped over.
Booz hasn't seem my PM yet. Kind of sucks for someone to be lagging this early.
Just mentioning this: right now EVERYONE knows who should be picked, so name dropping doesn't really make a difference. Later on there will be great sleeper picks available for someone knowledgable enough to grab them.
I suggest that once we get out of this round that name dropping and "I can't believe ______" hasn't been taken yet type posts be discouraged.

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
Yeah, I understand, but what I'm saying is that, because people have picked so quickly, most of us are getting "on the clock" much quicker than anticipated. For example, say the following scenario occurred:
Player A 4:00 P.M. deadline
Player B 8:00 P.M. deadline
Player C 12:00 A.M. deadline
Player D 4:00 A.M. deadline
So Player D might be worried that he has to log-on between 12:00 A.M. and 4:00 A.M. to pick. But this is probably not the case. Since Players A, B, and C are active, it is quite possible that A may pick at 2:00 P.M., B at 3:00 P.M, and C at 5:00 P.M. So, in actuality, D can pick anytime between 5:00 P.M. and 4:00 A.M. and still be guaranteed first choice.
Also, if you don't pick by the deadline, your pick is not forfeited. So as long as you get on before the person after you (assuming they don't miss their deadline, of course), you'll still have first choice.

Why after this round? There shouldn't be any on this one either.

Actually, that system is problematic too.
It leaves the potential for someone to hold up the draft for over a day.
I would suggest a 9 hour clock that starts RIGHT AFTER the previous pick was made from here on out. That has worked in previous drafts. You don't want long, long gaps of over a day between picks. That will kill this draft pretty quickly.
As for name dropping, I said after this round because pretty much everyone knows who should get picked this round. There are no "sleepers". If you are referring to picks in later rounds, obviously no names should be dropped. Personally I've got a few great sleeper picks I expect to possibly drop to me at #28.

Yeah, there shouldn't be any talk about undrafted players until the draft is complete.

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
My "sleepers" are universally not sleepers on RGM drafts...that's why I'm looking at moving Bird if it meant another 1st with a high 2nd.
