last time i'd checked they had 9M till the tax after they signed Jrue.

so it would put them right at the tax taking outlaw and blake... and adding a vet min or whatever.

I'd rather sweeten the pot to CJ Watson. I think he's a good fit on our team. If the Blake deal goes down thats fine but i'd rather see if we could swing Bayless instead. I don't consider Bayless a point guard but rather a combo guard so we could have use for him on our team and his talent is very hard to ignore. He could be the type of scorer we need on this team.

We're not getting him, I'm not trading our youth to get him. All of our players are considerably better.

Lou Will is just as good of a scorer.

It seems obvious to me that he needs his role reduced and to be a reserve, but the only thing that matters right now is what Jordan thinks.

Willie can play the weave & heave. He may well be the veteran PG the team needs.

i also think even tho blake/outlaw fills two holes...that they are concerned over the salaries of the two combined even if its one year. so i think if a sign/trade is arranged..its just blake.

i think miller situation resolves soon..if knicks go for sessions...then miller has one option..portland.

its either straight sign or sign/trade.

then plan b is watson/arroyo/dixon/knight

add a big...swing man etc.

Sixerfan,
Does this management ever consider foreign players or Americans who have starred overseas? It's getting pretty old reading the names of the same retreads over and over. Maybe they should consider all options.

If we are looking for a veteran PG to come in and offer some experience, how about a guy like Earl Boykins. Yea, I know he's tiny and getting up there in age, but no question the guy caan score in this league. He played last season over in Italy and as far as I know he's a FA now.

He can shoot the 3 ball pretty well so that would fit. He's obviously a liability on D, but so are many of the other names we are throwing around. If Lou is in the starting lineup this season, where is the bench scoring going to come from for the guards? One thing you know about Earl is he can be a spark off the bench.

Tinsley just got bought out.

I wonder if his talent would outweigh his character issues for Ed... especially considering he'd likely come cheap, and on a 1 year deal.

Keep hearing the Sixers haven't talked to Blazers about a sign-and-trade.

If something happens, could see them possibly taking Blake, but not Outlaw. Would put them at the tax level, with a backup 5 and young guy needed to fill out the 14-man roster.

Sixers will not pay the tax, unless they make a blockbuster deal that allows them to become contenders.

List of possible emergency big men is not impressive: Aaron Gray, Ryan Hollins, Adonal Foyle, Chris Mihm, Primoz Brezec, Jared Reiner, Jake Voskuhl and Earl Barron. All but Gray (restricted) are unrestricted. They're apparently looking to sign one center for the vet minimum.

i'd be fine with Ryan Hollins, he's a big 7fter who can run a bit, athletic, blocks a shot here and there. If we are looking for a 3rd string dude, i'd go with him, he's young enough he could improve at least to break the rotation.

The thing that bothers me about Dalembert is that he doesn't work on his right and left hand after practice. He wants to be involved in the offense, but his best shot is a 15-foot fade-away, which isn't what you want from your athletic 6-11 center.

Fabricio Oberto, Johan Petro (Nuggets-- R), Rasho Nesterovic (Pacers), Francisco Elson (UFA), Robert Swift (UFA), Stromile Swift (UFA), Mikki Moore (Celtics), Theo Ratliff (76ers), Brian Skinner (UFA) are also available.

dude Primoz Brezec is a manchild....I once heard he killed a man during a game...and the man was in California. He was in Indiana..

and Rasho... Tim Duncan got him traded because he made things tooo easy for him, that and he was totally bang Eva, and Tony didn't like that.

Dude do not even speak of Primoz Brezec. His first name actually means Primo as in number 1 there is no other. Even if he can't hear you talking about him he still knows. He is a beast of apocalyptic proportions and his unveiling will be made in the most brutal horrific form known to man.

Lets not even think of signing Mikki Moore! I doubt we will get him as his 7' foot 187 lb frame is hot on the market and he should be commanding a max deal for some lucky team soon.

Robert Swift still has acne... I don't want him.

Fade-Away? I haven't seen that shot as a "Fade-away". He takes a little hop on his release but that's not a fade-away IMO. In the practive video, we see Daly in the post a bit.

I'd like to see him much stronger, more aggressive in there. But we never get him the ball even if he's in post position. So I can understand how this part of his game is lacking.

Dalembert spent more post-practice time shooting 3s and trying to head the ball into the basket than he did working on right- and left-handed hooks in practice. That the fans at the Wachovia Center are known to gasp when he gets the ball 15 or more feet from the basket says a lot.

He tends to shoot fade-aways when he moves toward the basket on the wing and baseline.

What's wrong with a 15 footer? Guys like Brendan Haywood take that shot.

I think Portland pursuing Miller and offering Bayless in trade talks aren't related. I think Portland views Bayless the same way the Sixers view Holiday. I think If the Sixers could get Bayless they would pretty quickly. Bayless is a promising young player on a rookie contract. I don't think it matters that hes projected as a PG beucase he has potential and isn't making a lot of money and the next two years after this are team options. Portland might now be offering up bayless in trade talks with the Bulls for Hinrich.
