Lets be realistic!

Post#1 » by Kerrsed » Thu Jul 23, 2009 7:27 am

The Suns could be adding 1 or 2 more players to the team. Realisticly who would you pick up as a FA or as a trade for Pavlovic's corpse. No LeBron. No Kobe. No "A REAL GM". Pick someone that is on the market, has been rumored as being shopped, or would be coming via trade with Pavo.

Ready.

Set.

GO!!!!!

For me, i gotta say Lee. He wont get the contract that he wanted by anyone, and could be a perfect C next to Amare. Most of his offense comes from getting rebounds and putting them back up. He gives 110% and can move pretty quick. IMHO he has good basketball iq, he seems to always be in the right position to get rebounds. This would be if Gentry decides not to use Amare as our starting C. If Amare is our C, use Clark as our starting PF.

Nash/Jrich/Hill/Stat/Lee.
Nash/Jrich/Hill/Clark/Stat.

Sessions is another i would love to see in a Suns uni, but as stated before (in another thread) Kerr's hard-on for Nash is clouding his judgment. Sessions is a young Nash-type PG that would do wonders in an uptempo system.

Well, there are 2 FA i would like to add, who do you like and why????

Glen 'Big Baby' Davis! But he isn't soft, he plays D and rebounds so we probably wont go after him

I could see him here. I think he did rather well in BOS last year and improved his Offense. Teams would leave him open and double Amare, so if he could work on his post presence a little more, i think it could be a good pick-up.

Both of those are going to get more money than we have to offer "realistically" .

I would love to trade Pav for KT, as many have suggested, but the money is off a bit.

Skinner was mentioned 12 days ago, and not by statisback, which would be good for us at the vet min. He already knows our system, and has played with our guys already.

I wish we could've let Hill walk and not sign Frye opening up room for Big Baby. He's a big guy but athletic enough to run the floor and has a consistant jump-shot. He also plays angry which i really like and can bang w/ anyone

I'm all for dumping J-Rich for expiring contracts but Bowen and KT should be retiring about now

What do you guys think of Songaila? Had a decent season, he's really tough and brings a lot whatever minutes are consistent or not. We could trade Pavs for him, salaries match. Has an option for 2010/11, that's the problem and I'm not sure he fits well in up tempo style...let's say it's ok for 10-12 minutes.

If not,

Pavs is waived and we sign Petro for minimum. That's realistic nobody wants him! He's skilled and young but doesn't seem concerned, needs somebody to kick his ass constantly...

Re: Lets be realistic...!

and the first two outta the box are Lee and Davis  :o

There are still a few FA bigs out there.... but nobody jumps out as a difference maker. I think we wait and see who may have serious interest in Pavs money savings and in the mean time, talk with/work out a few bigs in need of a job. Surprisingly, there is not a huge rush here.

Yeah, he really was on that life support when he helped lead us to a Top 10 defense in 2006.

Could Williams really be had for a 2nd rounder?

I don't think we're going to move JRich for expirings. Nash resigned with us most likely knowing we'd keep JRich so we'd be competitive.

Bowen? Really? That's just as bad as signing the guy who costs us a title (Horry). I'd give KT a holler if he ain't retiring.

If we are being realistic. We are not adding ANYONE who is old, PERIOD. If this team is playing better than expectations, we might add a KT or Bowen befor the deadline. We are not putting any old players in front of Lopez, Dragic, Dud, and Clark to stunt their growth as players.

Wait, you want us to be realistic but then you want to add David Lee?

I'd add Skinner or KT or Gooden or Joe Smith.

I'm starting to warm up to Shelden Williams.
