Tinsley Waived

Post#1 » by Orange_Blooded » Thu Jul 23, 2009 5:35 am

Finally, Jamal Tinsley and Indiana have parted ways, if this was last season I would be all for signing this guy to a cheap deal. We thought we were close and Dragic was unproven.

This Year... I still wouldn't mind signing him but would be afraid of holding back Dragics progress, not to mention he has been a headache in the past so I pass... what so you guys think?

At this point Dragic is the better player. Tinsley used to be a solid PG but he hasn't played in like two years and is already pushing 30.

I say pick up Tinsley for a small contract. Then trade Nash to POR (since they are now including Bayless in trade offers). Nash/Tucker for Bayless/Przybilla/Outlaw. Gives Portland the floor general that they need and us a young PG and a bad ass Vanilla Gorilla.

Tinsley/Dragic/Bayless
Jrich/Barbosa/
Hill/Outlaw/Dudley
Clark/Frye/Amundson
Amare/Przybilla/Lopez

Start Stat at C with Przybilla off the bench. I think Lopez could learn alot from Przybilla about Defense/rebounds/not taking ʇıɥs from anybody. Bringing in Bayless creates competition at the back up PG spot, thus making them play harder for their spot. Tinsley has been a good PG in the past, great assist man/good D/makes shot when he needs to, and if he is still in basketball shape, would love to have him.

Nash won't get traded. Sorry lol.
And they are about to sign Andre Miller.

Jamal Tinsley? There's a reason why he hasn't gotten playing time in Indiana the past couple years. The guys a head case.

I wouldn't want to ever see him even talking to one of our guys. Tinsley's a team cancer. He's been in more shootouts then Clint Eastwood. No thanks.

Kerr has a hard-on for Nash, to bad, his value is good we could get some nice pieces for him. I'd rather have Batum than Outlaw though

if sessions signs with NYK, is it possible to swap nash and sessions, or would a certain amount of time have to pass in order to make that trade happen?

I think we could swap them out without waiting. Hasn't Q been traded to like 4 different teams since the off-season started?

Sessions @ 5-6 mill a season for 4 years
Lee re-signed @ 7 mill a season for 3 years

For

Nash 13 mill for 3 years.

Sounds good to me!

Hill re-signed because Nash was going to re-sign, and the fact that both re-signed indicates we are sticking with Nash. I think he retires a Sun for sure.

EDIT: Pass on Tinsley, considered him last offseason but we have no place for him.

Too much baggage but he's really quite talented. The fact that he's A)a knucklehead and B)hasn't played in two years is what really puts me off, but I think as a one year rental it's a high-risk(in terms of lockerroom damage), high-reward(in terms of having a fantastic backup) type of move.

Haha it does seem like the Pacers have the highest percentage of white players out of all the NBA teams.

I'm very against signing Tinsley. I'm very proud of the fact that the Suns have for the most part signed quality character guys since Colangelo took over.

Tinsley, while a good player, is not a good fit for the suns at all........

If we do still want to make a run and be competitive without risking our future, signing Tinsley for a low-contract (maybe minimum) would be well worth it. Word is Tinsley is in great shape, and that guy could play the game of basketball. i think now with Jackson, Artest and everyone else gone, and now that he's had a couple of years to think about it, I think the guy knows he has screwed up in the past and wants/ needs a second chance. I say give it to him if his workouts still look good.

I would not be surprised if guys like Boston and LA make a play for him though. They have tested veterans that can contrl him on the team, and both of those teams are set for great runs in the playoffs.

I would not be disappointed if I saw the PHX had signed him.
