Jazz should trade Boozer for Mcgrady +

Post#1 » by redsox4ever36 » Thu Jul 23, 2009 5:04 am

worked it out in the trade machine.

Utah sends Boozer Harpring and Korver to Houston
Houston sends McGrady and Battier to Utah

Why? McGrady's a gamble but considering your history its time to shake things up and take a chance. Battier gives you a good number 3 and a lineup of williams mcgrady battier millsap okur could be pretty good.

Even though the trade works out its doubtful considering the Jazz wanting to shed some salary here.

But whatya guys think? Tyrus Thomas trade is better? More conservative?

I don't know that the Thomas trade is better but I hate the idea of Mcgrady in a Jazz uni. That is probably because I have a personal vendetta against him and I think he's a total loser, but that's my take.

Rockets Die Hard Fan here,

The Jazz are the bane of my basketball existence. I hate the Jazz because of the rivalry over the years but I respect the HELL out of Jerry Sloan(A 1st Ballot Hall of Fame Coach). The guy is tough and is a winner. That being said, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY IN HELL that Sloan would put up with T-Mac for 5 nano-seconds. The guy takes a TON of contested jump-shots (stopping ball movement), doesn't defend anymore and is an expert excuse maker when things don't end well. OH YEAH, AND IF YOU PUT HIS PAYCHECK ON THE RIM THE GUY WOULD STARVE BECAUSE THERE'S NO WAY HE'S DRIVING THE LANE! On paper he's the HIGHEST PAID PLAYER IN THE NBA but he has the will of a 15th man. If the Jazz do this trade I will watch every Utah Jazz game and practices too if I can, just to see the speed and degree of Jerry Sloan's inevitable meltdown.

We must trade Miles and not Korver...
Korver should be important with TMac...
I'm an Italian Jazz fan...

Why suggest things that make no financial sense whatever? Boozer will be traded in a transaction that will ultimately save the Jazz huge bucks this season.

McGrady is out until February. How about the Jazz just keep Boozer until the deadline and then we talk about how McGrady may be recovered at that point.

This trade has no expiration date, I dont get why the Jazz are so hellbent on getting rid of Boozer so quickly. It may turn out better for them if by november or december a team realizes they can contend if they get boozer and would be more likely to give a more lucrative offer.

You know...as crazy and horrible as the idea of T-Mac in Utah sounds...I kinda like this trade. I don't want to lose Korver though, anyway to make it work without him included?

Jazz do this trade in a second BUT Rockets only do it if get NYK pick. With that said I would not do it for Jazz then unless MGrady was healthy and ready to play.

Are you kidding me? the Rockets only do it if they get the NYK pick? No chance Utah gives that up and Houston would be extremely selfish not to take a full year of boozer for a half year of mcgrady. Especially since McGrady's deal comes off the books as well.

HT have you lost your mind? There is no way that they would even think that they should be getting the NY pick.

What will ESA sound like when Boozer is announced in the starting lineup at the home opener?

^20,000+ of bluebirds is my guess.

On the topic I don't think we should trade for mcgrady  the guy could not even dunk what 6 months ago? Now injured/old..coming off a serious injury... ball hog..his contract is pure awful, let houston get stuck with him, way things are going for houston they're going to have a long and awful season is my bet.

As boozer plays for a new team he *SHOULD* be motivated to perform since he'll be a free agent and we do have until feb. to listen for offers. Just think if one team who has high potential totally flops and decides to blow up the roster and wants to trade for expirings (like PHX). There could be better players offered in the future.

Make him start with the Jazz this season, continue to listen to offers..and let him hear the bluebirds (and rightly so) on opening night for being a clown off the court PR wise. Give Jerry total reign to sit him on the bench and pout I don't care but trade for Mcgrady? No thank you.

Is it fair to the other Jazz players to hear boos during starting lineups? Or do all of the boos go away the first time Boozer dunks off a pick'n'roll?

in my mind we'd just be trading one underachieving, loud mouth injury prone "all star" for another one.

nothing gave me greater joy than when t-mac jumpshot the rockets right out of the '06 playoffs in multiple 4th quarter meltdowns AGAINST the Jazz, and then cried about it later. I imagine that joy would turn into despair if he was doing it ON the Jazz.

AK and Harpring for Mcgrady =yes.

Boozer and friends = no.

Also Houston would have no leverage to ask for the NYK pick. We would be doing them a favor by giving them an extra 7 mil in cap space. I could see them asking for it in an AK deal, but we will not be trading that pick.

I would trade Boozer before AK in any deal any day of the week. I have a good feeling about AK this season and Boozer obviously doesn't want to be here. At least AK wants to be here...

If we got TMac, I'd want AK's fat ass contract involved otherwise forget it, he's not worth it.

If you have a choice between AK and T-Mac though who do you take? T-Macs' contract is no better then AKs'...
