i agree with that, and i doubt artest will be below 10 fga. however, a career low in FGA, or one approaching his FGA in his bulls days, isn't out of the question considering the offensive fire power the lakers have.

You don't feed the dog, he's not going to guard your house.
Maybe Phil can control Artest. If theres a coach who can do that in the entire world, its phil jackson.
Ron is hungry for rings, not points.
He knows to eat well he'll need to cater around the team, even if that means a career low in FGA.

Me Like Lakers wrote:Being on a stacked Lakers team would theorically hurt his chances. However, IMO it will help him.
First, he is a Laker. That fact alone helps every player to be voted. So, having less competition will help him here.
Second, he will be on a team that will probably have a very nice record by the time of the allstar break. So, if somehow he manages to really help the team to have a nice record by that time (let's say, by playing great D.), his chances will improve even more, more than compensating his probably low stats.
As some of you said, I only hope he really deserves it. I don't want to see him thinking he is bigger than he really is only because he became an allstar because of weaker competition
Its not only these things that will help him get voted in.
Drew is on the Lakers who happen to be on T.V. very often because they are such a sucessful team, have Kobe Bryant, and big market. To add the cherry on top they just won the championship so that will give them even more time on television stations like ESPN. TNT, and ABC that you can get by simply having cable or satalite T.V.
The Lakers appeared on T.V a lot already last year and I don't see how much more they will be but if they do show a couple more of the Lakers games especially before the All Star game, more power to Andrew Bynum!!!

Sadly, undeserving Bynum might potentially be voted in by default. Same thing for his contract.

Hes going to have a much better season if healthy. Healthy Bynum + the team we already have + resign Odom = dominance. If we are dominating the leauge you're not going to hear Laker compalining about how Bynum, Sasha, Luke, and Odom are overpaid. If the Lakers have a stacked team and are dominating Laker fans are going to be happy and if they do complain about something it will be how the Lakers lost a game because they put no effort into the game.

There is no doubt in my mind that Andrew Bynum will explode on the league next season. He will dominate. Book it!
22PPG - 12RPG - 2.8BPG - 2.5APG
Aside from injury, the only thing that can stop him is he himself, by possibly not working his arse off every day already now. Outwork them all, Drew! Including Kobe.
See sig.
I don't think it's very likely that Andrew averages over 20 ppg with Gasol in his prime next to him. Pau is our first option in the post.

Bynum, Gasol, Kobe, Artest, Odom all have a fair shot at it.
The Lakers had 4 all starts with Kobe, Shaq, Eddie and Van Exel.
