Garret Siler talk again

Ok I gotta admit that I haven't seen much on this guy, but the few videos I have seen and from everything that everyone says, it seems like he could be a decent 3rd stringer.
I know most of this is coming from Morris, but if he is pushing Morris around then shouldn't we hang on to him and give him a chance to beat Morris out in training camp. I really hope we get him into our camp because we definitely could use a big, big, big guy for 5 minutes a game just to push some people around a little.
I also think that its funny that Randolph is giving him this praise when his contract isn't even guaranteed, and Siler could possibly take his spot.

I'd say sign him up. Never know we may find a diamond in the ruff sort of deal here.

Are you sure that Morris is not guaranteed this year? All the sites I use have him down as a guaranteed contract.

Personally I don't care for Siler. He was a mediocre rebounder in Division 2 where he had a massive size advantage over every player he faced- I just can't see how he could ever become a legitimate NBA player.

I was just looking on hoopshype at the salaries and thats where I got that it was nonguaranteed. Could be wrong though. I understand that he won't be that good right now, but if he is 2 inches taller and 40 pounds heavier than Randolph, then seriously how much worse could he be than him. Randolph does nothing despite his size, so why not use someone bigger who has a little upside instead?

Randolph Morris was actually a good player at one point and could contribute on a quality NCAA team. Siler is just a big guy.

I'd still rather take a chance on someone like John Byant who was the WCC player of the year over Patrick Mills. He led the nation in rebounding and worked his butt off to get in shape this season.

I've never heard of John Bryant but his rebounds, blocks, and free throw percentage are extremely impressive. I can only imagine how slow this guy would have to be to not get drafted with those numbers at his size.

I see Bryant as Aaron Gray but who can hit foulshots and is a better rebounder and thats an awfully useful player to have as a third center. He is a great guy to use for a few fouls a game against a bulky center. I am sure he is horribly slow but I'd also guess he is faster than Siler.

I think this is one of those times when NBA GM's just see a big white guy and assume they are a stiff (which he probably is) and miss the part where he has a useful role in the league considering how you invest in him.

He has shown a willingness to get in shape- he dropped 30 pounds this year and if you got him in an NBA weightroom that dedication could really pay off. I just can't see the argument for Picking up Siler over Bryant at all.

Garret Siler is becoming so popular among Hawk fans. Even at the gym today some guys happened to be talking about him and how they expect him to make an impact. I on the other hand disagree and just feel people are hyping this guy up due to his size, and since some people just want another new face.

As far as John Bryant goes, I would really like to know how many times he can press 185, and the same for Garret Siler. If anyone would can set that up and provide that information I would greatly appreciate it.
