That strongly suggests he does value Sessions, even if he may believe Jennings is the PG of the future.

What a huge stretch of logic this is ... It simply could mean he doesnt like the players being offered , which is probablly the case.

I agree. But if he wanted to be rid of Sessions and thought he was a crappy player he'd take what he could and move on. The fact he isn't interested in just being rid of Sessions strongly indicates he values him (be sure to note I haven't said how much he values him). So nope, it's not a stretch of logic by any means. It's a logical deduction based on the information we currently have available to us.

Excellent Point :o

I don't know why you guys don't believe that link. It does say "Coverage you can count on" at the top.

Alan Hahn from New York Newsday's latest Tweet:

I'm told no offer sheet imminent on Sessions/Knicks. They're still interested, but not at the full MLE.

Time to change the title again. "Knicks back in? Also Clips. But neither at Full MLE"

It seems like their just reporting something a few days late, small local media. Although they do mention the 5 year deal which is different than anything I've seen.

I still don't buy it

What the heck is that doing in the wiretap anyways?

Sources tell WAOW in Wisconsin that the Knicks are ready to offer Ramon Sessions a five-year contract.

With a first-season salary around $5.8 million, the Knicks would be using all or nearly all of their mid-level exception.

The Bucks would have seven days to match the offer sheet or let Sessions join the Knicks.

Some guy in Wausau who compiles things for the their website like "Favre preparing comeback" does this and the wiretap construes it into "Sources tell WAOW....." ??? There was nothing in that news blurb that implied anyone told WAOW anything.

What a joke.

RealGM has been sensationalizing **** in their wiretap for as long as I can remember. No surprise there.

One game sample size? Great argument. Oh, and Amare is not a good defender either.

One game sample size...LOL..he averaged 16 and 12. That's an 81 game sample size. How about 37 and 21 on Andris Biedrins...He's a good defender, right? 18 and 11 on Tyson Chandler? 18 and 18 on KG? Mmm, how about you stop giving me all these Hollinger stats and watch the guy play. Considering he averaged 19 and 13 in both december and January and led the league in double doubles, I'd say the guy is a damn good big man.

I'd like one you guys to compile a list of all the guys in the league in the past 20-years who had a season where they averaged 16/12. I'd think the air is pretty thin up there. Guys like Duncan, D12, etc.

The point isn't that Lee is anything close to those guys, who are all max players. But that he's worth $8 million a year. Which he is.

Wausau media has a scoop? Come on...there is no fricken way that they have a scoop. Sorry...Sessions isn't getting a 5 year MLE deal. Someone just woke up from a bender.

And then an accompanying list of how many teams played as many possessions per game as the Knicks did last season.

Shawn Marion put up 22/12/2blk/2Stl in D'Antoni's system, but hasn't had near the impact on a game since the two parted company.

Zach Randolph was on pace to average 21/12 before he got traded out of D'Antoni's system.

Biedrins was at 14/13 in the same amount of minutes. I think you can extrapolate because the minute difference is under 5. 14/13 wouldn't qualify him for Lee's 16/12 club, but he wouldn't qualify for Biedrins' 14/13 club either. 16/12 is kind of an arbitrary standard.

Moral of the story is often a player has reached the vicinity of that statistical level in one of the modern day run and gun systems.

So according the wiretap the Knicks are near offering a 5 year deal worth almost all of MLE? Is this not new?

Mike Hunt is already laying the groundwork for the Bucks to not match an offer for Sessions.

Well the article is crap & Wiretap stuped to fabricating that sources are telling WOWA this stuff.

If there are any discussions still going as Hahn is reporting than they happen to be below the MLE.

Right, and no one is asking to pay him $15 million a year like true 16/12 guys get paid or $12 million a year as fake potential 16/12 guys like Bogut got. $8 million. That's it. Less than Mo Williams is paid. Less than TJ Ford makes. Less than Kirk Hinrich or Cutino Mobley. About $1 million more a year than Etan Thomas or Dan Gadzuric.

Replacement level Richard was a horrible investment at $14/$15 million a year. At $8mm he'd be a rich man's Mike Miller. Ditto Michael Redd. I think people are still ripping Lee based on some perception he's going to get paid $10 or $12 million a year. $8mm flat for four years with a player option after year three is a decent deal for him and a great deal for a team signing him.
